Riley has had some heavy eye weeping from time to time.  Looks like a dog that should be in a KISS concert.  This has been going on for almost two weeks.  He was due for a bordella shot, so saw the vet Thursday.  He has some eye drops and regimen for three weeks.  Weighed 29.6 at vet, well I know now my scale is accurate.  Vet said no infection, possible allergy?  As his weeping is clear, not green indicating infection or other problem.  The visit with a stool sample ($42), came to $142.  My wife brings up the point I used to holler bloody murder when she wanted to take our girls in for annual physical, but have no problem taking and paying for Riley's little concerns.  I was concerned, when I read there is a strain of bordella that is resistant to vaccine.  The three signs are eyes weeping, diarrhea and coughing.  He had one of the three.  He seems perfectly normal.

Myla had this and it went away. I'm sure it will improve soon.

I just read recently that weepy eyes was not all that uncommon and would go away.  Tell your wife that you have learned from the past and you know now that routine health care is important.  Plus, I am just going to assume that your girls are all fully grown and that was a long time ago, so $142, adjusted backwards for inflation is like, what, a few dollars back then.  LOL

Since the weeping is clear, sounds like it is nothing to be alarmed about, but I certainly understand your concerns.  I have a tendancy to worry about every little thing with Rua.

Daisy had eye weeps for 8 full months....nothing a little warm wash cloth in the morning couldn't handle. I too was worried but the Vet said just normal weeping (whatever the heck that is). She is now 21 months old, no weeping. However, her baby sister Bella is having the same symptoms as Daisy. When I had her I used the warm wash cloth on her in the am and she was a whole lot better through out the day.
