Reading Chelsea's "A Good Doodle Day" Blog got me to thinking back to when I was potty training Lucy and Sophie. As I think back on it, it seems like it went fairly smoothly (now that it was 1.5 years ago). However, I can vaguely remember thinking will it ever be completely done. They got it fairly quickly, but I had to get trained to know that if they were busy they would forget. So, if they were playing hard in the house, you needed to stop the play and get them outside (this was even after they were consistant in letting me know they needed to go out). Anyway, one day they were in the LR and I was in the Den when they just started barking and barking really loudly. I yelled a few times with "No Bark", but it just continued. When I finally went into the LR they were standing there watching a puddle of pee run across the floor and barking at it like it was a bug or something! That was definitely one of those will it ever end days, but I actually think it was the last time either of them peed in the house! Anyone else have a favorite potty training moment!

These stories are all so cute/funny! They certainly bring back memories (that I'm so happy are in my past). Potty training was complicated for me by doing 2 puppies at the same time. Unless I saw it happen, I never knew who had the accident. I'd be running around here going "Who peed on the floor" and they would just both be sitting there looking at me like "It wasn't me". Fortunately, I was home with them all day and that made it so much easier. They are the first dogs I have ever "successfully" potty trained!

I am in the middle of potty training right now as Allie is almost 12 weeks old. She has actually gone a few days in a row now with no accidents. However......last week one day I had stayed home all day with Allie and she had had NO accidents all day. At the end of the day I had just put my son to bed and was in the laundry room folding some clothes. My DH, who was lying on the sofa (the nerve), called to me and asked me when was the last time Allie had been taken out. I told him it had been a while and she probably needed to go out. He gets off the sofa to discover she had peed right next to the baby gate. I asked him why he was asking me in the first place. He said she was walking around near the baby gate.....HELLO?!?! That means she needs to go out!!! Looks like I have some more training to do................DH not Allie

Rosco was about 7 months. I was on the sofa chair typing away on my laptop on some general dog forum--I was giving 'potty training advice' when diagonally behind me I hear Rosco peeing!!! I'm flabbergasted and sit there dumbfounded for a second before yelling out "NOOOOO" and rushing him outside. What irony!
