Well Finn made it through his neutering just fine. His baby teeth actually fell out on their own over the weekend so no teeth pulled. The vet tech told me that he would probably sleep most of the evening but NO such luck. He hasn't slept a wink and has been home for 6 hours. I can't get him to settle down. Yankee isn't helping one bit. He is trying to coax Finn into playing and I keep reprimanding him to no avail.

I foolishly thought Yankee would sense that Finn wasn't up to snuff and leave him alone. What was I thinking? I tried separating them but they bark and scratch at the door to get near each other. What am I going to do for the next few days???? They are driving me nuts already.

And the deadly cone.....I hate that thing but he is trying to lick his stitches. I forgot all about the shin bruises.

Yes, he is trying to lick at the wound even with the cone on. What is the absolute shortest time I have to keep it on him? I just can't keep him quiet. I would practically have to sit on him and that wouldn't be good. I checked his incision and it is fine even though he has been so active.

Well I am glad to hear that Finn is home and all went well....I do not have a great answer for you to keep him calm, my Renny was thrilled that Ollie was sort of quiet for a day, lol...But by the next day he was running around again...Sorry to hear that he needs that awful cone. Do u know for a fact that he will go after the area if he doesn't have the cone on?

We've resorted to using boy's briefs to prevent Bentley from licking his incision...but he's so hyper..and driving me NUTS!

I feel your pain! Longest 10 days of my life, watching them every second of the day to make sure they didn't start wrestling, which they tried to do every time I turned my back. Leashes will be your best friends. So glad everything went well at the vet!

It is really hard to keep them calm when you have more than one dog. You will get through it though! But you may need a glass or two or three of wine every night :)
