Today, our mom said she had to clean the house because she is going to Ohio for a shower this weekend. She said she doesn't know why she is bothering since dad is as messy as Vern. Anyway, she told us dad was going to be watching us this weekend and she said, "God help you!" whatever that means. Well, we decided since she had so much to do before Friday that we would help. After she mopped all the floors, Fudge tried to help dry the floor by walking back and forth through all the wet spots. Mom kept saying, "Fudge, I just mopped the floor", like she didn't appreciate us trying to help dry it, by laying in the wettest spots. After she straightened the cover on the couch (we never had a couch cover before Vern arrived), we both jumped up on the couch to show her some spots she missed. We can't help it if once we got up there, we started to wrestle. Sometimes, a dog has to take a break from all the cleaning. Next, she put all of our toys back in our basket and we helped by getting our favorite ones back out to show her where we liked them. She started saying maybe she should put us in our crates and see if we could redecorate in there too. In the middle of all that cleaning, Vern thought he heard noises and started barking and barking. He was staring out of the window in the foyer and nothing was there, but he kept barking. Vern is scared of a lot of things that are not there. Finally mom said, "Vern, have you ever heard of the SPCA? They like barking dogs" and Vern just wagged his tail and then mom smiled. Well, we are tired now from helping so much and right after Vern rolls all over the newly vacuumed carpets, we are taking a nap. Sincerely, Fudge and Vern

P.S. Mom says keep it quiet about this post because her daughters already think, after she posted "Groundhog Day", that she is spending too much time on Doodlekisses. They were talking with our dad about having her get help...that is another reason why we pitched in today :)

When I try to help Mom with the mop when she is cleaning the floors she doesn't seem to appreciate it either. What's up with that. Keep up the good work guys I'm sure your mom will appreciate the help sooner or later. Quincy

Dear Darwin,
We both help our mom with the bed, especially when she tries to change the sheets. We like to hold down one sheet while she spreads the other on top but our best help is with the pillows, both before and after bed-making. She just can not get them arranged correctly. Perhaps you and we (what is with that grammar?) could give a seminar to those doodles interested in bed making.

Hey Fudge and Vern. My mom does the cleaning thing every now and then, and she is really ungrateful when I try to help. Just the other day she was making the bed, and when she started spreading the comforter on the bed I saw it was wrinkled so I jumped on to smooth it out for her. Then I decided to take a nap before she finished smoothing it out. She didn't like that at all...

How many steps are there in the Hopeless Doodle Addict Program???? I am sure that even though I have reached that exalted status, I have many more steps to go. I obviously have an extended need for this group therapy!!!
Actually, before dk, I used to actually clean my house! Now .... not much at all.

LOL !! My sisters say she needs DKA (Doodle Kisses Anonymous), but they think she is too far gone for it to help.
