Fudge...My Little Traitor!

I have been back from vacation for one week and I am noticing that Fudge has become very attached to my DH. This morning, I got up very early in the morning and took the dogs out to go to the bathroom in the pouring down rain. When we came back in, Fudge wanted to get up on our bed. As soon as she got up there, she walked right up to my DH and just sat and looked at him so dreamily. He was asleep, so she kept putting her paw on him until he woke up and started rubbing her tummy and under her neck. A couple of times, I said, "Fudge, do you want to cuddle me too?" and she just looked at me like, Get lost, loser!  Meanwhile, Vern decided he was missing out on something good and got up on the bed too and proceeded to sprawl across my husband's legs. It was not a good position for my DH to be in, because one swipe of Vern's paw and he might have had to make a doctor's appointment to see a Urologist.

 

Even in that position, my DH nodded off a couple of times and Fudge just sat and stared at him and reminded him with her paw that she was still waiting for her rubs. Her look was so intense that I imagined she was thinking Rub me and no one gets hurt.  Fudge does seem to be able to make Vern do what she wants, and he does have an incredibly big paw. Next, she leaned in and started giving him kisses. WTD!  Fudge is not a big kisser, so I knew she meant business. I asked my DH if the two of them wanted to be alone and he thought that was hysterical and said (and I quote), "She is kissing me because I must be greasy."  GREASY....did I miss something?  I mean, I know we had a problem once with him wearing pants with peanut butter on them to bed and Vern goosing him, but I thought we had that all straightened out. He went on to clarify that maybe he smelled like something from work (spices), but I think he was trying to make me feel better, because Fudge, by that time, was snuggled up next to him and had offered me her rear end to cuddle, which I politely refused. Oh well, I still have Vern, although I did notice he was vying for belly rubs too.

Lorraine OMD, Kona does the same butt thing, but only with her daddy.  But this silly girl does a play bow almost standing on her head and lifts her butt in the air for scratches, or tickles, maybe that is the secret.....

Karen, Thanks for the morning laugh. How fickle these doodles are and the nerve of them not cuddling us when we need it. Don't they know we are the boss?

Laurie, you never fail to crack me up!

I am accustomed to feeling rejected by JD in the bedroom. Most nights, he's lying across the foot of the bed while I'm washing up and getting ready to go to sleep. When I finally get into bed, he turns around, looks at me as if he's trying to place me, and then jumps down and repositions himself on the floor at the side of the bed. No amount of sweet nothings softly whispered in his general direction will entice to join me in that big, empty, king-sized bed.
Maybe I need a new nightgown?

I.n our house Daddy makes mommy do all the work and he gets most of the play! Neely isn't much of a snuggler in the usual sense. His way of telling you he loves you is giving you his butt to rub. Yes I rub his butt. He will back into ya to allow your feet to reach his butt and look behind him waiting for it. He comes to bed and lies across the bottom of the bed so your feet can cuddle him. I do make him give me your head! So I get to cuddle his head once in awhile. He is also trained to give hugs too. So I often have to ask him for a hug. But My oldest son was home on the weekend and had an incident that left him in tears and hurt all night. Neely never left his side the entire night. He usually sleeps in our room or if everyone is home he likes to sleep in the hall between everyones rooms. So I FIGURE Neely must think his bumm is worth more than his face so offers us his prime relestate.

But if Daddy is home forget any butt time for me. He's too busy following Daddy around so he doesn't get left behind incase a trip to the coffee shop or the dog park is in the works.

Ahhh the pictures you created for me were hilarious.  Some of our members (YOU included) really need to have web cams set up in your home all the time!

That's how it is in our house :)  Daddy's girl Kona behaves so different to her Daddy, but I do have a Mommas' boy , so it all works out.  It could be Fudge is holding a little grudge, I know Kona does, those silly girls.  I bet it won't be long and things are back to normal.

Doodles are FICKLE!!! Don't worry, it's only a matter of time before they turn on him!!  And if that doesn't happen...well...like Sue said...their love can be BOUGHT with treats!! :)
