Geese & walking around the Campground!

So...today, it was 70 degrees!! Wow, it was beautiful! Unfortunately, I had to work today from 10 am to 4 pm. I call it "Boring Town" because right now, the camp is closed and I have to FIND work to do. Or, I search around on the internet a little. I do a lot of paper work during this time....catching up on all the files.

At 12:30 pm, Jerome came in to the office so I could go and feed Samson lunch and have him do his business. Uh oh, yes, I work with my husband. It works out well, although I didn't think it would when I moved here 8 years ago and ventured into the world of camping! That is another story. After feeding Samson, I couldn't wait until 4 pm.

When it came, I ran out to get Samson for a long walk! He is pretty good on a leash. I use the no-tug harness on him and it works!!! We went for a long walk. Near the lake, we have a herd of geese. A herd?? What do you call a bunch of geese!! I have to look it up. Anyway, they were honking and walking around. Samson took one look at them and boom, tail went between his legs and he backed up. He seemed to think they were aliens from another planet!! I can't imagine what he was thinking, but he didn't want any part of the geese, which is good. I didn't want him running after them! We walked across the field away from the geese. He was happy then!

Our walk went well. He loves it! And so do I.

Tomorrow's another day!

I don't know what Honey would do if she saw the real thing up close. Hannah has had a toy duck that quacks since she was little, and never really played with it. Honey is affarid of this Duck, and sometimes Ducky comes in handy...lol.

Lucy just loves geese. We have a pond on in the spring it never fails there is a flock of geese that visit and have little ones before they leave. WELL, one day my DH opened the door and said "go get the geese Lucy" and she did. She was gone for over 2 hrs. ERRRRR

Our Springer, Gordie, isn't as smart as Samson. Gordie did take off after the geese and plopped himself into the pond. No fun for Gordie!!!

Gaggle it is. these group names for birds are a bit much like: "A murder of crows". I kid you not.

That is funny because yesterday we took our doodle Thomas for a walk near the lake (Lake Ontario) and we also came across a "FLOCK" of geese. He too was perturbed by this new wondrous site and sound ; all the honking and flapping around and pooping that these geese do. We just stood there looking at them and then Thomas pulled on his leash to get closer and I swear to God, the entire flock took flight in fear of my scary doodle. I wish I had brought my camera.
