Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I can't believe it...I have been watching all the reports of the Doodles getting sick and everyone is having trouble trying to figure out what is wrong with them. Now, this morning Gracie (who likes to sleep in late) jumped off our bed and came limping down the hall to the kitchen where we were sitting. I immediately had her lay down and I checked her back paws and pads for some type of injury or something stuck in her paw. I was decorating the tree last night and thought maybe she stepped on an ornament hook. Nothing. Then our neighbor did it a bit more aggressively and she cried when her second from the outer left back paw toe was pressed. We took her to the vet and they think either a sprained or broken toe! She is there now where they were going to make her sleepy with pain medication and then x-ray. That was three hours ago and we are still waiting for the call. They are also going to x-ray the entire leg just as a precaution. Fingers crossed it is just the toe!
What the Doodle is happening to all our babies? Great way for everyone to start the holidays...huh?
UPDATE - Gracie Doodle is fine!
Gracie Doodle is home and asleep on our bed. She has pain medication with they gave her mainly so they could do the x-ray rather than go through the IV and shaved leg thing. There is no fracture, foreign object or knee problems. There is always that fear that there could be a tear in the knee or heaven forbid, cancer! Clean bill of health so we are thinking a sprain or tweaked toe. Slow leash walk for a week and no chasing her tennis ball, running, jumping or leaping...all of which she does. That is probably how she did it. She was running around in the dark last night and probably did it then. Thank you all for your love and concern for her. These Doodles are very very special to us all! One big happy family!!

OMD.... just saw this post.... so happy to hear she is fine and just needs to take it easy! Yeah right.... easier said than done!!!
So happy to hear she is not seriously hurt! I hope the paw feels better soon how scary. I hope she can obey the rules so she feels better. Good luck!
oh I'm glad she is ok. What a scare!! So many sick and injured doodles lately!
Saw the original post yesterday and when I went to leave a message it did a disappearing act! I'm so glad that it doesn't appear to be anything serious though I don't know how you stop a Doodle running and jumping. Get well soon Darling Gracie X
Glad she is ok.
Gracie were are so glad you are OK. Quincy says no chasing tennis balls for a few days is going to be ruff.
Gordie says don't let a little toe tweak get you down, gracieDoodle! Ned, Clancy, and especially Gordie send their love and wishes for a speedy recovery. Gordie just wants Gracie to know that it is possible to climb ex-pens, get onto high beds, race up stairs, and pull while on a leash - all while recovering.
Nancie, I am so glad Gracie is OK! Gosh, there have been so many Doodle medical issues lately it seems. Knock on wood. Webber and Seda send doodle kisses.
Nancie, I'm glad to hear that Gracie doodle did not break a bone and that she will be okay. Camus broke a toe and it was at least 9 weeks before he was allowed any activity. Both of us ended up depressed! He broke his toe during a case of the zoomies. WTD?
Glad to hear that Gracie is doing better - boy, they do know how to scare us don't they????
