Guess Who Is NOT Moving to MA Right Now?

Five weeks ago, after an over 2 year bout of unemployment, my husband found a job in MA with a travel company who specializes in deluxe river cruises for the over 50 set in Boston.  We were thrilled as I have been dying to return to the east coast and this job held great promise. Disaster struck yesterday in the form of a phone call from my DH telling me that he had been let go.  We are devastated and I cannot stop crying when I think about returning to that awful life of unemployment--the job search, the resumes, the lack of money and health insurance, the arguments and stress.  I am overwhelmed.  I wrote about it in my blog this morning (www.thinkingsoup.blogspot.com) but I had to share with my DK friends since you were all so kind to me when I announced our great new opportunity.  Thanks for listening...as always.

I can tell from Di's post that she has "been there, done that" and knows what works, so I see a lot of hand holding happening. You will get through this and I do believe you will be thankful in the long run too. God never closes a door without opening a window......

Hi- I'm new to this site and was just digging around and found this and felt compelled to drop you a line!  I know it doesn't help at this moment......but I'd bet big bucks that the day is coming that you are going to be looking back and thanking God that you didn't go to Ma.......because the RIGHT one finally came along!  I pray that day comes very VERY soon!!  Hey.....next time you guys argue.....hold hands.....make yourself.....make him......Sometimes that simple act is all it takes to diffuse things......May feel alittle strange......but I swear it works great most of the time!  Even leads to hugs sometimes.....which is SO much more needed by us all than the stress of fighting.  Another neat thing I picked up from a very wise octagenarian many years ago (married for over 50 years when she lost her husband) that shuts down so many things that need to be shut down very quickly.....especially when squabbling.....even can work for outright knock down drag outs......Ask this simple question...."Just how important is it?"  That's it......just those specific words.....Ask it out loud.....ask it to yourself.....whatever the situation calls for.....then be quiet.....Works great in so many situations.....Now you throw that together w/ grabbing your spouse's hand gently and lovingly (not always easy!) and that is a killer combination!  If you've never tried these little diffusers.....hope you give 'em a whirl next time the situation calls for either of them and they lend some peace. Hope you don't mind me posting this......it just kind of came out of my fingers on to the keyboard......Perhaps I was meant to stumble upon your post?  I don't know.....but my heart goes out to you....Life can be so dang hard sometimes!!!  I so get the feeling of WILL IT EVER END!?   God bless you guys......Now listen to this ole busy body and go give your husband a big ole bear hug!  You'll feel better......even if it's just for a few moments!

I'm SO sorry to hear this, I know how excited you were to move there and have a stable life again. I know what you are going through with the struggling and the "unknown" I'm in that boat right now also. It's HARD to find something and then to get it and lose it right away is unthinkable.
