Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Five weeks ago, after an over 2 year bout of unemployment, my husband found a job in MA with a travel company who specializes in deluxe river cruises for the over 50 set in Boston. We were thrilled as I have been dying to return to the east coast and this job held great promise. Disaster struck yesterday in the form of a phone call from my DH telling me that he had been let go. We are devastated and I cannot stop crying when I think about returning to that awful life of unemployment--the job search, the resumes, the lack of money and health insurance, the arguments and stress. I am overwhelmed. I wrote about it in my blog this morning (www.thinkingsoup.blogspot.com) but I had to share with my DK friends since you were all so kind to me when I announced our great new opportunity. Thanks for listening...as always.

So sorry. I truly feel your pain. I can relate. It has been almost 3 years for us fighting the workforce, unemployment, only to turn around and make less money than we did in High School over thirty years ago. My only consolation is that we are not sick, everyone is healthy and happy, and we have a lot of love in our home. I wish the same for you and your family.
I am so so very sorry for your family. I just read your blog, and I have to applaud you for not wanting to just blast the company. However, that was probably a smart move on your part as DH will once again be job hunting and we all know employers are looking at webpages these days. I am a firm believer that when things are meant to be they will happen. That doesn't help the disappointment, but good things happen to good people and your time is coming. Hang in there. Hugs and Doodle Kisses.
Oh I am so sorry for you both! My dh just lost his job 3 weeks ago and I too am feeling stressed out. He worked for a crazy Chinese company who decided that since he had done such an awesome job getting things running so well - that they didn't need to pay such a high salary any longer! How is that for a job well done!! As uncertain as I find our situation - I believe that it is all part of God's plan, so the adventure continues. Try to stay positive (I KNOW) it is hard!!! Email me if you need to vent!!! Hugs to you!
Thanks to you all. We are truly devastated.
Just went back & read your blog about this. How cruel of them...and apparently clueless management. If this is the way the company was, probably in the LONG run, it will be better off for him not to be there. Although I hate how devastated you all are.
I'm so sorry that this happened. How awful of them. Don't people have any feelings or loyalty anymore? It makes me sad. So, you didn't sell your current house yet, right? I hope not! Somebody my DH works with this happened to before. They hired him, he moved his entire family out of state, and then right after they got there, they let him go. Just horrible. I sure hope something even better turns up for you.
I'm really sorry to hear this....hoping a better opportunity comes your way.
I read your blog. What a rotten trick they played on you. I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around, but I am angry at them on your behalf.
On the other side, although it is incredibly horrible right now (my daughter has been out of work for about the same time period as your husband) in the long run that company is not where you want to be. The owner is either a heartless, any means to an end, sort of person or a complete fool.
Thinking of you and your family and praying for a better opportunity just around the corner.
I am so sorry. I hope a new position comes along very soon.
