Halas is a Canine Good Citizen

We passed! The first time through, he did great at everything except sitting politely to be petted. He kept trying to jump, so the evaluator couldn't pass him on that, which means we failed. But we went through the rest of the test anyway, and did fine with the other tasks. They said we could just wait a little while and try again after the other dogs had their turns, so that's what we did. And the 2nd time, he sat very calmly and let the evaluator pet him. He gets very excited when people pay attention to him (he just doesn't get any attention at home, LOL), so sitting calmly was the most difficult thing for him. And he sailed through the other tasks the 2nd time around, too. So Halas is a CGC! So, now, we just have to figure out what we can do with the CGC, and then figure out what's next.

Congratulations to Halas, great job buddy! Both of ours are CGC and Buddy passed his
TDI therapy. I didn't think Kona would ever be able to pass the therapy, but her barking is
coming under control and she is learning, so maybe....... If you are interested in the therapy
you should go for it, if I didn't work full time I would do more, it is very rewarding!

Congratulations!!! Lucy and I are working on her CGC too AND we have the same problem - sitting quietly in the face of FRIEEENNNNDDDSSS. LOL The jumping is killing me! GREAT JOB ON YOUR CGC!!

Congratulations! That's very cool - - obviously therapy dog is next! Some places allow dogs to do therapy with just a CGC. But that doesn't get you liability insurance. Rosco was worse during his CGC than he was in real life, but he passed anyway. Not only is Halas beautiful, but now she is a smarty pants.
