Halas' New 'Do

I decided to get Halas' hair cut short. I like the way it turned out. His legs need to grow out a little bit, but they had to be cut pretty short last time, so that's a work in process. I'm going to miss the long coat a little bit, but I won't miss the brushing time, and I'm sure Halas won't either. I could spend 90 minutes brushing him at night, and a new mat would show up overnight that would take another 20 minutes to get rid of. It just became really difficult to keep up with, and uncomfortable for Halas, since I guess I'm not the most gentle brusher. This will let us use more of our free time for swimming and flyball instead of grooming. He's super soft now. He also looks skinny now, closer to his actual weight.

I think he looks FANTASTIC!! I love that his eyes are so prominent - they are gorgeous! I wish that Charli's coat was straight like Halas' because combing her curls is not one of her favorite times we spend together because it takes 3 hours to do her entire body. When she sees me going into my grooming bag, she runs upstairs and hides from me! WOL!!!

Sara, I take Halas to a groomer. He's been going to the same one since his very first grooming at 4 months old. Halas is a little over 2 1/2 now, so he's been going to Tina the Groomer (yes, Halas knows this name and gets very excited when he hears it). The first time I wanted some length taken off, I took in 4 or 5 pictures and talked to her for awhile about it. At that point, she already knew us well enough to know that I didn't want him looking like a poodle. I hadn't taken in any pictures since then, until this grooming. That was just because I was having him cut shorter than normal, and I wanted her opinion on how he would look with it that short. I'm pretty sure it's a scissor cut.
