What an adventure/ordeal. First I cooked and cut a chicken tenderloin into small pieces to take along. Then combed Haley’s coat so he would look his best. After fastening him into the back seat of the car we started out. Down our road to the corner, turned on the next road – so far so good. Got to the two-lane highway and turned on to it. Then came the oncoming traffic – the reason for the chicken. (Haley lunges at oncoming traffic as it passes our car on two-lane roads! ) Bam (he lunges at the back window at a logging truck) bark-bark…. “Down Haley; stay.” Another truck and a few cars. Haley stays down so I give him a piece of chicken and praise him. Most of the time I was able to keep the peace but occasionally Haley got in a lunge and bark.
Got to the vet’s and I tried to get the dood to take a “whiz” to no avail. We went inside and immediately Haley was attacked by an aggressive dachshund. Haley was a good boy and did not reciprocate. The hour plus long wait to see the vet (no appointments here) wasn’t too bad. The dachshund would try occasionally to pick a fight (he doesn’t like male dogs). Mostly cats today but lots of questions about Haley (he must be the only doodle in this very rural county). Some people came in with a six week old Mal-Shi and a 3-4 year old girl. The little girl would look at Haley and then pet her Mal-Shi. She did this multiple times. Too cute. Haley got excited about one person and "piddled" on the floor. Hopefully he will outgrow this.
Finally the vet. Into the room with the scale for a weigh-in. Haley would not get on the scale but "piddled" on the floor again. Finally when we got him on the scale he sat and was real still. Then off the the exam room. Another "piddle" on the floor. Poor dood had to give a specimen for intestinal worms (I wouldn’t be happy either if it were me). He then gave a blood sample. He was pretty good about this. The vet looked everywhere; felt him all over and listened to his heart and he was the picture of good behavior. Then came the syringes for vaccinations. Haley struggled and was not going to be stuck with a needle! The vet called for help and with the two of them Haley managed to send the syringe flying across the floor. Finally they pinned him to the floor (gently) and it was all over in a instant. Back out to the waiting room to wait for the test results. Everything was negative. Haley weights 66 pounds at 16 months.
The trip home was a repeat of the trip there. At home at last and a nice nap. Then outside for a couple of hours of some Frisbee and relaxation. The rest of the day and night Haley was one quiet boy.

I hope that you got a nap too!!! Glad that Haley is a healthy boy, and hope that you don't have to visit the vet for a while!

Wow, that sounds like an ordeal. You must have been exhausted by the time you got home, but it sounds like all the results were great!
