Guinness is six!!!! He's the little guy who brought me here to DK where I've made so many amazing friends. He has brought us so much love and joy, and I'm so grateful to his breeder who was committed to producing Doodles with great temperaments. We met his Mom who was the "family dog" and were able to talk to the owners of the Dad who worked as a therapy dog with the owner who was a Psychiatrist in Boston. The puppies lived right in the house and were well socialized with children. When we went to pick him up the daughter who was about 5 or 6 was carrying him....I could see it broke her heart to give him up. He was 10 weeks when we got him, and it was one of those things that was "meant to be". After our Dalmatian passed we decided that we wern't going to have anymore dogs. We wanted the freedom to travel. Well that only lasted a few years, and then we really missed the "pitter patter of four little feet". So I went on the Internet to look for a puppy....yes, I was very stupid back then. I found Guinness in Vermont. He was 10 weeks and had been promised to a family with a little girl who was very ill. The parents were getting Guinness hoping that it would bring some joy to their daughter. As it turned out the little girl got much worse and they were unable to take Guinness, so the Breeder put him on her website. I saw him about an hour after she posted, and called immediately. The next day we were on our way to Vermont....the best decision ever. He is amazing....smart and affectionate. Unfortunately my breeder is no longer in business, because she produced some amazing puppies. He is a great brother to Murph. He is patient with him, but knows when to put the big guy in his place. He has his own strategies for dealing with the size difference. When he's had enough he jumps up and nips Murph's ears....that puts an end to the terrorism. Murphy has always loved taking toys away from Guinness....now the little guy takes the toys under our bed where Murph can't get to them. It's so funny to see Guinness running through the house with a toy in his mouth heading for our bedroom...he scoots under the bed before Murphy can get to him and teases him by squeaking the toy. Murpy gets SO mad. We're so happy that we found him. He was an awesome therapy dog....until his Mom started slacking off. I got so busy with Murphy's training that I stopped taking him the the Alzheimer's Facility....I must get back to that because he did a great job. His Birthday present is going to be some special "alone time" with Mom. Because of Murph's IBD he can't have any treats, and so I stopped giving them to Guinness too. I tried sneaking them, but Murph figured out what was going on. So we will go to the pet store and get some treats and go for a long walk...just us. Happy Birthday, special boy!
Here's my little guy....
