Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I am a proud doodle mom this morning-a great way to start the New Year. We had a house full of guests last night and Quincy behaved like the perfect little gentlemen. No jumping when our guests arrived! No begging for food treats while we had cocktails and appetizers! No stealing cookies off the lower cocktail table! He was exuberant to see so many people milling around, but settled in nicely. I swear he knows when people are saying what a good boy he is, especially since he is only a puppy. He made us proud!
The countdown for before midnight was a bit much for him as our friends were using noisemakers and generally pretty loud. He ran off to another room and was cowering in there. I followed him into the other room and once he was calm, I gently leading him back to the den with all the mayhem and TV commotion. His natural curiosity and desire to be around people prevailed and he was sitting on our laps, me next to DH, for his first ball drop in Times Square. He is not really much for laps, but was happy to be there last night.
He has also never been up that late! We did not get upstairs until 2 AM ish and we all slept in the next morning. No barking at my son last night-he beat us to bed!
So he is now sleeping at my feet after a nice long, if chilly, walk to the beach. He could not quite figure out why the Polar Bear Club guys were swimming in the sound, but showed no interest in joining them.
Warm wishes to the Doodlekisses community for a healthy and happy 2013!
