Holly is at it again

We are fostering, Jaqui, a young puppy who was ravaged by a large dog of some kind.  She has lost one eye and we are fighting to save the sight in the other eye. 

 

 

When Holly met this puppy for the first time tonight, she was in her sweet darling Auntie Holly mode! Holly walked slowly up to this little girl, smelled her and kissed her gently.  Little Jaqui wasn't scared a bit.  She apparently could sense (she cannot see yet and may not regain sight in the eye that is left) that this big dog is loving and no threat at all to her.

 

Just when I think that I couldn't love Holly any more than I do, she increases my love with actions like this...

She has had one eye removed because it was not salvageable.  We have had her to a vet eye doctor and got a referral to another one in Pasadena who is supposed to be the tops in the field.  I will be taking her up there on Wednesday to see if there is a [possibility of saving at least partial sight.

 

She is a darling puppy and seems like she is adapting to her lack of vision quite well,  We only take her out on a lead but we noticed that she listens to where the other dogs are and wants to follow them.

 

She is full of kisses and tail wags.  I will post a more decent picture of her in a couple of days.

aw poor little thing :(  Is that her eye that's bulging out?  Will it get better?  I hope she's not uncomfortable.  Holly is so wonderful.

Richard, you and your wife are wonderful and caring people and Holly is amazing.  Jaqui is lucky to have all of you in her life right now and I hope she regains some of her eye sight.   It just breaks my heart to think of that happening to a sweet little dog.  Thanks again for all you do!
