How to Stop Your Dog from Drinking Out of the Toilet

I have come upon a sure fire way to stop Vern from drinking from our toilet. Before Christmas, I bought a Talking Snowman holding a plunger. Hallmark makes them and the snowman is motion activated so if anyone goes into our bathroom it starts talking. It says stuff like, "Whatcha Doing In Here?...Pull up a seat and make yourself comfortable....Ho Ho Ho, Who has to go? etc." Well, various members of my family keep turning the little guy off, but today I turned him back on and Vern went into bathroom to sneak a drink. We were sitting in the living room and Vern came flying out of the bathroom and jumped up on the sofa next to me looking like he had seen a ghost. Next thing we know we can hear the snowman say "If you need any presents wrapped, I have plenty of paper." I might keep the snowman up all year :)

Someone put one of those in the bathroom where I work and I went in and it scared the heck out of me. I don't blame Vern for running out ;-)

I need one of those.  My kids, 5, 7, and 9 cannot seem to put the lid down consistently.  Heck, I am grateful when they flush and wash their hands.

We don't have this issue, but I love your description of the snowman.  Bandit could never reach to drink out of the toilet and we also keep the lids closed.  Rosey doesn't even want to drink water out of the public doggie water bowls much less a toilet!! LOL!

LOL!  I would have liked to see that one on video.  Poor Vern...it is a good thing it didn't scare the piddle out of him.

We had that same snowman out over Christmas.  Our girls didn't seem to even notice it.  We used to have a problem with toilet drinkers as well, but I put a sign on the lid that said "Unless you like toilet water
kisses, please put the lid down" ..... reminded everyone to put it
down.  Now we don't have to put it down and they don't bother it.  For
them I think it was just a phase.

 

I had a blast with the snowman.  I would take him to other peoples houses for parties and put him in the bathroom .... would even scare the people that lived there!  We had a lot of fun with him.
