Hurricane Igor

We are currently being pounded by Hurricane Igor, tons of rain and lots of wind. There has been a lot of flooding and some roads are washed out. Several communities have declared states of emergency. The main highway across Newfoundland is closed due to washout conditions. So far we have not lost power but that is likely to change. We are totally ok where we are and the only problem we have is minor. I always take Quincy out on a leash to potty and today I tried sending him out on a long leash so I wouldn't have to go out, he wasn't having any part of that so now we have a very wet doodle and a very wet doodlemom. In the grand scheme of things if this is our only issue, it's all good. I guess we'll be making the fewest number of trips outside as possible.

Poor Quincy!! You do NOT look like a happy camper!!! We're glad everyone is okay at your house!! Just stay inside and snuggle with mommy and the sun will be back soon!!

Since we see so little rain here, Gracie Doodle loves to be in it! Today we just had a heavy marine layer (fog) and a bit of drizzle. She went on her walk and had to be toweled off when she returned. Gracie is happiest when she is wet...no potty problems with her! I don't know what I would do if she weren't the way she is.

Even a little damp and disheveled, Q is a handsome dood! We had this last year when it flooded in Atlanta. Callie was not a happy dood for a week, as her favorite "#2" spot is on the side of a gully that leads to a creek, which had overflowed.

They do make raincoats ...... L&S have them. Got them at Old Navy for a little of nothing.

Donna -- having endured one summer in FL for 4 hurricanes I feel your pain. Fortunately I didn't have dogs at the time. Hang in there and when you are done with it send some of that rain our way ..... we are desperate! Crossing our fingers you don't lose power ---- that's when it gets boring!

Glad to hear you guys are ok. Sorry it's so miserable to go out in.

Do they make doggie ponchos? :) We had a pretty impressive storm - certainly NOT hurricane level - and I was huddled under an umbrella trying to keep the dog and myself dry - it was a complete failure as the wind was blowing from the side. hah.
