Yesterday little Maggie was chasing around the yard and randomly dropping down on her belly---laying as flat as she could in the grass just tall enough to reach her "eyebrows".
She would raise her head just a smidge to look around the yard and see who might be tracking her.
I just had the sense that she felt invisible when she pressed her head down and her eyes dropped into the tall grass.
It reminded me of our golden retriever Bonnie. She was a big girl. Even if she weren't a low energy gal who loved to eat, she still would have been a big girl. Her father was the bigest golden I had ever seen. He was over 100 lbs.
We used to joke we could use Bonnie as a coffee table if we ever needed one in a pinch.
But if her feelings were hurt (from being compared to furniture, perhaps)....or she was in trouble.....or she justed wanted some time to herself.....she would go to the corner of the room and plop down with her nose buried in the corner. She would hide there where nobody could see her-----all 70 lbs of her-----until she was once again ready to face the world..
It must be so much easier for Maggie---she only needs to conceal 12-1/2 lbs behind those blades of grass..
