I have a swimmer!!

Bailey had a blast at the dog park today!  She usually goes into the water up to her belly...but not today.  She was not about to let a ball get away...So proud of my baby girl!!!

Good job Bailey! Wish we had a dog park like that here too.
Chewie loves to swim too. Although our recent visit to the dog pool was a bit traumatic. He almost got bitten by a 110lbs Rottweiler and nearly drowned by a 60lbs Mastiff "puppy". The rottie was very possessive of its owner/toys and snapped at Chewie when he walked past. The mastiff climbed on Chewie when he was swimming and basically pushed him underwater for several seconds. I nearly had a heart attack! Both dogs were owned by the same person too :(

Chewie had such a fright, it took 15 mins of coaching/praises before he settled down and went back to swimming happily again.
Do you have issues of hostiles dogs at your dog park? How do you deal with it? Can they be banned?

Way to go Bailey!   Isn't it exciting when they first take the plunge and commit to swimming?  I was so excited to see Shelby swim for the first time.... swimming is a big part of our summer routine!   Congrats on Bailey being a swimmer... fetch in the water will wear her OUT!

It's calle Pooches Play and Swim Park in Orange Park FL (NE FL).  It is a small park, sandy but nice.  Yesterday there were only 5 dogs there and it was a beautiful day.   The pond is small and tidy-bowl blue but they keep it so clean..and it's cheap only $10 a day to play ; )
