I have to share with all of you how wonderful my sweet Beau was for my Mom in the ICU

Mom was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance yesterday, with severe chest pains. In the emergency room, the heart monitor was jumping all over the place, UNTIL we placed Beau on the gurney with her. He cuddled up to her legs, and her heartbeats immediately evened out! AMAZING!! The doctor said he has no medicine to compare with that.

Glad your Mom is better. I know our hospital would not allow a dog, so you're very lucky you have a hospital that recognizes the value of "doodle therapy".

Mom is home already, and in relatively good spirits. She was quite a handful today..apparently the older people get something the nurses fondly term "ICU psychosis". Imagining things, yelling at everybody, etc.

I hope you mom recovers quickly. Dogs can do amazing things for people. And what could feel better or more relaxing than a doodle cuddling up to your legs? It's great that Beau knew what she needed and helped her out.

Best wishes to your mom. I've never heard of a hospital letting dogs in...is Beau a service dog? I think it would be wonderful if allowing pets to visit became a trend. There's nothing more comforting than your beloved pup!

It is wonderful that Beau has this effect on your mother. It is also nice that the hospital allowed Beau in with her. Wishing your mother a complete recovery and hope she feels better.

she is scared and disoriented, but thank goodness there's no cardiac damage, as suspected. Probably wil be discharged tomorrow. Thanks for caring!
