We just picked up a puppy from a trailer park in the Los Angeles area who had been rescued from Gang Bangers who were torturing it. The pup needs a partial tail amputation and its face has been burned.
I am not a forgiving man! I could easily maim or kill anyone that I caught torturing a puppy like this one. And that is not just an empty burst of anger. I would enjoy doing so!
Anyway, the puppy is at our vet and the vet will amputate the tail partially. It seems like her face has healed from the previous abuse. She seems to have a loving personality dispite her abuse. She will have a loving safe home with us and we will eventually find her a home in which she will be loved and cared for in the manner any dog deserves.

Another rescue organization alerted us to the pup's plight. The original rescuer did not have the money to pay for the vet care needed by the puppy so we took over.
I don't know which gang the bangers belonged to or their ethnicity but, can pretty well guess from the demographics of the area in which we found her. I also don't know how the original rescuer got the pup away from the bangers but, I am just thankful that she was able to. She saved the pups life.
It is remarkable how someone might put themselves in possible harms way, the way the original rescuer did, for the sake of a puppy. She is the real hero of this sad story.
For many of my years in the classroom, I dealt with juvenile gang members or wannabes. Most individuals join gangs because they have no self-respect and are (misguidedly) looking for acceptance. They do not value their own lives or the lives of their family members. If they can't value themselves or their "loved ones", it's no wonder they can't treat animals with respect. Yes, I feel anger, but I also feed sad!!!
Oh, Richard, you could call me up and I would go with you to dish out some retribution! It just makes me sick.
Richard, thanks for being there once again for a poor puppy so badly in need of help. We had a similar situation happen locally only it happened to a cat. I don't discriminate though, I love both species and both stories brought tears.
Richard, I am so glad you and your family were there for that poor girl. Blessings to you.
Oh Richard, how awful. Yes, I am enraged too. Thank goodness this little girl has you and your wife. Thank you for all you do.
How terrible, thank goodness she was rescued, now she can start a new, happier life!
Different folks react differently. My wife cried and I got enraged! Both ways of expressing emotions...
That is a horrible story! Thank God you are there for her. I will help you hurt the guys that were torturing her.
