Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
As many of you khow, I have been expecting my second grandbaby any day now. This is my only daughters first child after years of trying to concieve. And some of you may know that I am also a Labor and Delivery RN as well as a Lactation Consultant. After helping 1000's of young women have their babies, I have for years waited for the day I would be the grandmother on the recieving end of my own daughter's baby, helping her, guiding her, comforting her and walking with her through this amazing journey into motherhood.
I have been blessed with the gift of helping mothers with this momentous journey and have always been grateful and humbled by being in such an awesome profession that I get to witness a miracle every day, several times a day.
I had prayed for my daughters experience to be everything she ever wanted, for all that she invisioned in her mind and in her heart, for how she wanted to bring her child into the world and for the guidance from God that I would be wise enough, calm enough and strong enough to help her with this.
Well, she and her DH delivered their beautiful baby girl today. She is healthy and safe in her parents arms. My daughter was beyond amazing and she and I were in total unison and control as she went from early to active to pushing stages of labor. Her goal was a safe, unmedicated and peaceful birth. And she got everything she wanted and she was everything I knew she would be.
I was privilaged today to participate in the birth of my granddaughter and share the most precious life altering moments a mother and daughter could ever pray for. If there are any gifts greater than this in life, I don't know what they could possibly be. I am humbled to think God would bless me and my family this much.
Here is Logan Gail, 6 pds, 12 oz. 20 inches long. Born at 1:32 pm. after 5 1/2 hours of labor.

First, Congratulations on the new baby, she is just beautiful. I too am a retired Labor and Delivery nurse. I was one for 25 yrs. And I too, have no daughters, but two sons. Both their wives are pregnant now, due one in Feb. and one in June. The one that is due in Feb. lives not far from us, but I will not be in the delivery room with her. But we will be there to see this child right after the birth. We will be waiting just outside. she has said only my son and her mother will be in there, and that is ok with me. The other one lives in New York, and she has asked that I be in the delivery room with my son,her mother and her. I am so excited, and I know that I won't have your feeling because neither of these girls are my daughter, but I will have the next best thing, lol. These are going to be our first birth grandchildren. One of the girls has a daughter from previous marriage that my son adopted when they got married. Your daughter is a strong lady, and you are so blessed to have witnessed this wonderful birth...She had a short labor for a first baby, which was so wonderful...Anyway, please accept my warmest congratulations and hugs to all of you.....Cheryl
