Idiots make my blood boil...

We just received a call from an owner wanting to surrender a Maltipoo puppy that had been diagnosed with parvo yesterday. They purchased the puppy from a craigslist seller and these puppies are often brought up here from below the border and are notorious for ill health.

Then the person said that they have a several year old dog WHO HAS NEVER BEEN VACCINATED and is beginning to show signs of diarrhea and vomiting. They asked if they should get the dog vaccinated now!  When Judy asked why the older dog had never been vaccinated, the answer was that they did not have the money (most vets in our area have five or ten dollar shot clinics).

If they didn't have the money to vaccinate their present dog, why in the world would they buy another dog?

The answer, of course is stupidity.  BTW: ignorance can be cured by education but, stupidity is terminal.

The San Diego Shelter will accept the puppy and, if it can be saved, they will save it...

This kind of stupidity is far to common, and it is their pets that suffer, not the humans entrusted with their care.

I signed the petition and sent it to more than 25 dog oriented people.  Hopefully, they will also send it to others...

Heartbreaking for all the dogs who have stupid owners.  It's unbelievable.  You do such great work.
