Hi Doodle friends, Murphy here. Yes, I'm baaack!!! My Mom has been telling me all about your "get well" thoughts and prayers these past few days when I was so sick. You all ROCK! I love you all! Yesterday afternoon I started to feel just like my "old self". Yup, you guessed it guys....my old "naughty" self. Being really sick was a "bummer", but at least I got to postpone the "tough love" that Mom had planned for me. She was feeling very sorry for me, and she was petting me and kissing me all the time. I loved that part of it. Plus I got treats for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I think I slept for three days...and I don't remember too much about it except for Mom's kisses. I also got to go to the Vet's three times, and I love it there. All those pretty girls kissing me and saying "oh, poor Murphy". They tell me I'm handsome and a "good boy"....man do I love that. Yesterday afternoon when I started feeling good again I had so much energy, and I had to make up for three days worth of "naughtyness"....and I did a real good job of that. I had big zoomies, and "stuff" was flying everywhere. Mom wasn't too happy about the big candle in the living room....whoops. My brother, Guinness, had a three day vacation while I was sick. I didn't want him to get used to the idea that the toys belonged to him, so yesterday I took them all and brought them up on the Daybed where he couldn't reach them. He was pretty mad....Mom said that wasn't fair. Can you even believe she had the nerve to "yell at me".....I'm a very sick boy, and there should be NO "verbal corrections". I still have to have all the medicine in my eyes and ears, but I make Mom and Dad "work for it now". Yes, no more just laying there while they drop stuff in my eyes. I fight real hard and try to get away. When Mom gets the bottles out, I run like the wind. Guess what happened last night? Mom gave me dog food for dinner! Can you believe that one....what happened to the steak and chicken I had while I was sick? Are you kidding me! I plan to "milk" this illness for all it's worth....how long do you think I can postpone the "tough love"? I'm not sure exactly what that is, but I don't like the way it sounds. Mom was saying something about having to go back to training pretty quickly...she didn't like it when I jumped and pulled on our walk yesterday (said something about pulling her arm out of the socket). Mom can be a bit of a "drama queen"....her arm was definitely still in the "socket". I saw a big black dog, and I really needed to go check him out. Moms don't get it. Oh well, she'll soon have me on a very "short leash" if you know what I mean. Tomorrow I go back to the Vet to be checked again, and I have a feeling my training may start up after that. I plan to act very sick at the Vet so I'll get more "lovin" from the girls...so maybe they'll say that my training needs to wait a while. I sure hope so. That's it for now. I need to go chase my brother for a while. Love and hugs, Murph.

Oh, boy, MURPH... YOU'RE TRULY BACK! And I LOVE it! I don't know what's the matter with us "MOMS".... we can't wait for you guys to get better and be up to your old tricks and then we 'kick ourselves' for hoping for the zoomies! So glad you're well.... you had us ALL really scared! We felt awful for you, AND your mom! Now be a good boy at the vet, and no "acting"... we've ALL got your number now! Cheers to YOU, Big Boy!

Thanks for the tips Murph, if I ever need to act sick I know exactly how to do it and get the best out of it. Meanwhile I am so happy that you are feeling like your old self again...even my Mom was crying.

Good to hear from you.

Murphy, dood, so glad you are better, my mom and I were a little worried. My mom actually did a big cheer out loud when she read that you were better. Now if only my mom would stop that barking she's been doing for the last two weeks, do you think if I put drops in her eyes it would work for her because the antibiotics she's taking sure aren't working. Your Pal and doodle twin, Quincy

I am just catching up on posts,Jane, and read about your horrific experience w/ Murphy. I am so grateful that he is better. Oh how frightened you must have been. I have been looking around for your symptoms and see that you thought maybe it was a seizure disorder? Is that off the table now? Do dogs get over this once and for all. And .. . can it spread to the humans in the family???? You take care of yourself and your family. I know if humans get these tick things, the symptoms can last for years. Are you going to get the immunization for Guinness? Wow, too bad I didn't read this while my daughter was here. I'm going to ask her if she has had to treat that yet. And I just signed up for another doodle sister for Sheila yesterday (not even bred yet, I;ll get the pup in late Feb.). You always are so graceful under pressure. I don't know how you do it.

Hey Murph...I'm SO thankful and happy that you are back to your old self!!
I know what you mean about liking all of the "Good Lovin"...
Well...we all like that good stuff!!
But...let me give you some good advice..from a Very smart Girl Doodle!
All you have to do.... is just be your wonderful...loving..."getting in trouble sometimes" self...and your Mom will still be loving you to pieces...if you know what I mean?
Most of all Murph...I am so Very thankful...for all of the "Many Doodle Prayers" that have been going UP for you my friend...and I do believe that you are going to be even better than before!!
That is...if that is even possible??!!
Oh...and about the training...well...I tried to do some Really Good ZOOMS tonight...and my Mom was NOT impressed...not even a little bit!!
We really do have to get together...and let's include Guiness...and my NERD boyfriend too!! I think you know him? He has a Really GREAT costume for Halloween. You have to tell your Mom to let you see it!! I Really like the bow tie and the glasses with the tape on them!!!! The slicked back hair is kind of cute too! Lol...
Well...back to why we have to get together...we have to make some plans on how we can Really...Really...try to do our Very Best...to be the "Very Best Doodles "that we can...
Why?? Because our Mom's and Dad's think we are...and we don't want to disappoint them...do we?? NO WAY!!
So Murph...I'm so very glad you're doing better my friend...and I'll be continuing to keep you in prayer...just to be Very sure you stay that way!!
I'm hoping you'll have the Sweetest Dreams tonight...maybe about Hugs...and Kisses...and a few Really Great Treats!!
Your friend...Sasha

Murphy,
Welcome baaaack! Clancy doesn't know it but that tough love thing IS comin' his way cause he doesn't walk nicely on the leash when he doesn't want to. I read Clancy's post so I guess we all will be having some of that tough love. Do you think we could put some tenderizer on it and have it for a snack??

Hey Murph,
So glad that you are back to your ol' self. Guinness was pretty worried about you and went out of his way to be quiet, so you might give him a break and let him have a toy or two. Plus, he might read another blog about dogs jumping on the bed and figure out that he could jump on the daybed if he really wanted to. Then your safe spot would be ruined. Ned is a little runt and he jumps on tables. Maybe I will suggest tough love to my mom for Ned. Then at least you will have someone to share your pain.
