I cannot urge people strongly enough to have identification microchips inserted into their dogs. This is Annabel whom we rescued from a local shelter. She had been a stray with no identification. Most of the dogs we receive that were strays are in very poor condition. Living on the streets is not conducive to a dog's health or looks. Annabel was in primo shape and had been professionally groomed. I am sure that no one just dumped this beautiful dog...
A microchip is an insurance policy which will help you get back your dog if the dog wanders away from you...
Although we certainly don't expect to lose Annabel, she now carries an ID tag and has had a microchip inserted...

She is beautiful and I'll bet she misses her home. Why her owners didn't chip her when they obviously care about her very much is a puzzle. In our county, chipping is the law.
I so agree with this. Thanks for posting, Richard.
Richard, I think you are so right! Thank you for rescuing this girl - she is so beautiful.
I learned about microchipping when I lost my dogs on the fourth of July. Our standard poodle and our first doodle ran away and were found the next day two miles away and across the freeway and a creek. One had lost his collar but the other still had his collar and they got ahold of him and gave us a call. Since then, all of our dogs have been microchipped. I'm sure this girl has (had) a nice home somewhere.
She is so gorgeous! So sad because likely there is a heart broken family out there.
