Thanks so much everyone. It was hard especially to see my little boys!! 25,23,19! Didn't sleep well last night but feel really good about our decision today. It was nice to have all her friends and ours come over to say goodbye too. She was so much happier the last two days with everyone back at home. She wasn't thrilled that everyone moved out this year, she was really lost without them to "MOTHER" she seemed to feel that even though they were now looking after her she had her purpose back right to the end. It was special for us all. I am glad it went so well. My middle boy carried her to the vets car at the end. That was when I broke down for Jazzie but also because I was so proud of my boys who came back to make her last two days much happier.
For everyone that has gone through this or has it impending, I hope that it is as moving and emotionally satisfying as what our family has just gone through. I can rest easy now and so can she.
Hi Lorraine. I know you asked for no comments but having just gone through this entire process myself just a few days ago, my heart just took a dive when I read your post and I just had to tell you that I and all your wonderful doodle friends are thinking and praying for you. As far as I am concerned, this part of the circle of life totally "sucks" (to put it eloquently) and I am still feeling ill from having to make this heart wrenching decision. Although 16 years of owing an animal is a long time, I know for you, it is still just not long enough. God Bless sweet Jazzie and hope my gorgeous Dudley is waiting to greet you...After fifteen months of puppy Frankie Girl...he finally has decided he likes dogs:)
