Just Had To Share How 1 Doodle Learns From the Other

I was giving the girls their nightly treats and of course, they must work for it. My philosophy is that there is no free lunch.
I have been teaching Samantha to play dead by 'shooting her' and saying BANG. She did it and got her treat. Charli saw that Samantha got treat much faster since Charli was busy looking at the treats instead of 'looking' at me when asked. What did she do??? She laid down and 'played dead' too!!
I never worked on it with Charli but she just copied what Samantha did!!
Training the 2nd Doodle is so much easier when the older one is pretty well trained. I pay kudos to Samantha because trust me, I haven't worked that hard with her in a long time!!

I will try and get the 'dying' doodle on tape. She happens to be a bit camera shy these days but I will appeal to the movie star side of her!!
Charli has her own Moo - although believe it or not, Samantha SHARES hers!! She shares everything with Charli - or is she is too much of a lady to grab it back!!

A great story, and also a great illustration of how important it is for puppies to stay with their mothers until they go to their new homes! They learn so much that can never be duplicated or replaced when they are sitting in cages in pet stores.
I would love to see a video of Samantha getting "shot"!

Sounds like Charli's picking up on things quickly.She must be getting really comfortable in her new home thanks to her new great family and her new big sister to show her the ropes. It'll be funny to see if she starts copying Samantha all the time. Does Charli have her own Moo yet?

True!! Much easier to train a 2ed dog. Again....I am working my way to my 2ed Doodle.Just cut down my work week to 4 days. I am easing Brian into the idea of the 2ed Doodle. He saw the "other" doodle in my neighborhood,he thought that GD was really cute. My plan is working. He also saw that I downloaded the IDOG rescue app.
