Kona Earned her Rally Excellent Title this weekend!

Kona CGC RE and I had such a Wonderful Weekend. She completed her Rally Excellent Title with a 92 score on Sat. and a 94 out of 100 score on Sun. If the little rascal had done the moving down all the way the first time though, we would have scored 97 on Sunday and placed! We are going to try out Agility next, I signed her up for an intro class to see if she likes it our not. We watched some amazing dogs on Sunday run the Agility courses, looks like FUN.

Five of us competed this weekend, they are in the picture in the middle. What I think is great is that out of the five, four are mixed breeds competing in AKC Rally :) The first is Cooper, he is a "Frug" frenchie and pug, next is Sadie, she is a Goldendoodle, she won second place on Sat and first place on Sunday in NoviceA. My Kona is next, then our best friend Skylar who is a Snauzer, and last but not least is Otis, he is a French Mastiff and English Mastiff mix.

A little rainy on Sat but Sun was beautiful, sunrises were spectacular through our Red Rock area. The Donkey is another story...... I really wanted to get some pics of them as I had seen a few on my way out each morning. On the way home, there were bunches of them. I stopped on the other side of the road, snapped a few pictures and then Kona saw them and all heck broke loose! As she barked her head off, the donkey started making a bee line over to us. Before I could get rid of the camer, roll up the window and put the car in drive this guy was 12 inches from my face looking in the window at the Kona. I looked at him, he looked at me and I finally got the car in drive and got out of there LOL I guess I will be doing my animal watching sans dogs next time ;)

Congratulations to Kona and you! What a fantastic accomplishment. Webber and I just finished Intro to Rally and I have a good idea what you had to do to get those wonderful scores. I really am very impressed! My old brain sometimes couldn't figure out which cone to follow next! Good for you guys. Love the donkey story :-)

Thanks!!! Charlie is a very nervous/fearful girl, so I am more concerned about her getting distracted. I was thinking about dipping my hand in some bacon grease or something!!

Thanks everyone, we have such a wonderful time together in and out of the ring. I recommend this to anyone thinking of even just dabbling in obedience. You can talk to your dogs, beside do hand signals, and both of mine love the happy voice for Rally. I think the only way I actually breathe through the course is that I talk to them :)
Buddy competes the second week of November so we will seeeeee. Kona has actually passed Buddy who started competing first. He is a little more rambunctious in wet weather and wind :) Hope for good weather for us and we will post his results in a couple of weeks!

Thank you Kyoko, we wish Charlie and you all the best on his Rally Novice competition! Make sure you announce how you guys do, my trainer always says that especially in the beginning you just strive for that green ribbon to qualify :) If he is in the A category, it will be a little easier to place 1-4.

BruceGirl, I never use her letters, but I thought she deserved a little brag today for her wonderful weekend :)

LOL Joanne, these are wild burros out in the desert. Some people feed them from their car windows and I was afraid it would have stuck it's head in the car looking for food. It was really interested in noisy Kona, not sure if it would have tried to bite her and get me in the process!

Wow!! Job well done Kona!!! Charlie will be competing Rally Novice on Thanksgiving weekend!! Wish us a luck. She started the agility a couple of months ago as well. I am telling you, the Rally helps A LOT!! I used to think Rally was kind of boring, but I see that it is really the fundamental!! Congratulations on job well done again!!
