Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Before any of you think we're totally crazy, we know that there's no such thing as a "Snicker-doodle" but we think this classification fits him perfectly! Since no one can tell us what he is except freakin' adorable, we have mutually decided that he HAS to be a "doodle" and what better kind of doodle to call him! He just is SO sweet and we want to EAT HIM UP!
To give the new ones on here some background info, this is our 3rd foster for DRC. Her DH says she's my "partner-in-crime." All I know is that "partnering" makes the process less scarey and a lot more fun! Last September, we pulled Leah, a beautiful labradoodle, who I fostered and found a perfect forever family for in Austin. In December, we pulled Norman, a sick aussie-doodle, that she fostered and found a wonderful forever home for in Frisco. NOW, here's CARTER!! This time, we're doing it together since we both had upcoming obligations over the next few weeks. Carter doesn't mind one bit -- it just means there's more people to love him! Besides being a "snicker-doodle," he's also a LOVE BUG so the more love the better!
We really wish Carter could talk to tell us "his story" because the story that we know just doesn't make sense! Why in the world would someone dump this 'lil beauty in the least desirable area of our community?? Who could drive away with this face in his or her rear-view mirror?? He was picked up by our animal control on May 7th and sat in a run for 10 days before I was told about him. This is what I found last Thursday:
After sending a few pics to Jeannine with DRC, we were told "WE WANT HIM" and Libby and I started making our plan! We now know this about our 'lil friend -- he's 18.5 lbs, about 10 months old, heart-worm negative, parasite- and worm-free, and 100% adorable! He was flea-infested, but after a couple of rounds of flea dip at The Grateful Dog dog-wash, he was good-to-go!! He is so good-natured and doesn't know a stranger! Our vet does not believe that he was "on the street" long -- he's just too clean. I suppose that he had to be go thru a "rough" patch to make us way to us and most importantly, to the DRC and ultimately his forever home! Oh, did I mention that he's housebroken?? Well, he is!!
Here are a couple of pics to show you how well he has adjusted to our dogs...
Guinness and Carter at Libby's house and...
with Knox at my house! Yea, we think he's one well-adjusted puppy!
You just have to agree with us...this is one of the cutest fosters EVER! Our little "Snicker-doodle" will soon be listed and we just know that his forever family is waiting for him. Thank you, Jeannine and Jacqui, for letting Libby and me help Carter find them!
P.S. If you want to see more pics, just let us know! Our cameras are full of them!
HERE ARE A FEW NEW PICS OF THE LITTLE GUY!! If you think we're trying to tempt you, you are exactly right!!

Thanks. I never heard of it.
@F There is a wonderful movie (animated) called UP! in which the dogs who have to wear a cone call it The Cone of Shame. It's a quote from the movie. I realize you may not be likely to watch animated children's movies, but this one is exceptional. If you have the time and interest it is worth it.
OK, I have to ask. How did it become known as the cone of shame. It's really just a medical protection device. Anyone know?
How is our baby doing after his surgery?
Seriously - the cutest EVER!!!! I would just love to have the little guy but we too are full up at the Inn - LOL. It will be fun to watch to see where he lands - they are going to be so lucky to get him. Doris & Libby - THANK YOU so much for helping him find his way!!!! You guys are the best.
Shoot! We are driving through Texas next month & staying there a few nights to visit family. However, we do have two children both under the age of 10 so it wouldn't work out anyway. He sounds perfect & I hope he finds a fabulous home!
Dena, Carter is being fostered in Texas. But even if he were closer to you, potential adopters must submit an application and be approved before they can meet him. And the DRC does not adopt to families with children under the age of 10.
Where do you live? We've been talking about getting another doodle & if you live near me then I'd like to bring my daughter by who has allergies to see if she has any issues with him. I'm in love! (I live in Las Vegas)
It can't be said enough times, he is stinkin' adorable!!! I can't imagine he isn't going to be snapped up very soon (and how lucky will that owner be?!?) I would take him in a heartbeat if we didn't already have two dogs, which is definitely our limit (although his little face is hard to resist!)
