Hangin with my brother! As Stuart's adoption fades into history, life at our house is finally getting to feel normal, well normal for us. I can hardly remember those quiet, boring days before Stuart came - now the house is full of rambunctious dog play! Our open floor plan, with all of these tile floors provides lots of entertainment for all of us as the dogs chase each other round and round skidding into walls and furniture as they go, ouch! The expansive babygating, the ex-pen, the metal crate - all gone to the attic - replaced with having the back hallway/powder room/laundry gated off for those times when we leave them home. Stuart is healthy now, growing like a weed (27 lbs now!) and well over his neuter - he'll be back swimming in the pool by Tuesday! Stuart is a potty training champ - that boy goes and sits right at the front door when he needs to go out!!!! His poo is a lot more firm with the addition of some raw food to his diet (Primal). Stuart has been moved onto Origen Large Breed Puppy now that Rooney has been switched to the Regional Red - Rooney will be 1 in a few weeks! Where has that time gone? Yesterday Rooney spent 6.5 hours with the mobile groomer getting the matts that Stuart chewed into his long hair brushed out and then getting a super short cut. Do other multiple dog families have this issue. Rooney has never had matts before except under his chin and Stuart chews on Rooney's ears. I was cutting the matts out in big hunks, he looked like he had big hairy earrings - I thought the groomer was going to have a stroke when she saw the hacked up mess! I thought about putting some "bitter apple" on Roo's ears, would that work? In Stuart's defense Rooney grabs him by the ears also. So life is sweet in our two doodle house (except that when dh gets home this weekend he'll find Stuart sleeping in our bed which I promised I wouldn't do). You may see my picture on PetFinder as he might feel the need to rehome me and the boys - it would have to be a "group" adoption.

Life sounds sweet, Jane! Stuart's growing like a weed and is a really handsome dood! Rooney looks like he's found his true-for-life bud!
We only have Brulee, but still found that around 10-11 months the mats started appearing daily. She mats under her ears, armpits and her chest area. Her coat has really gotten thicker at the same time. I brush pretty much daily, but the mats keep coming! I'm hoping that all of the puppy hair will soon be repaced with her big-girl coat!
Good luck this weekend with the new sleeping arangements!
