We have now had Simba for just over a week! Today he is actually 16 weeks and about 22 pounds. He and Whopper have become very attached and it is so much fun watching them play. She gets very upset when he has to be put in his crate but she is always right there leading the way when it's time to let him out. We are having good and bad days with potty training. He went 36 hours with no accidents and then the next day had 2 so potty training will remain a work in progress. Whopper loves going out with him but her preferred potty spot and his potty spot are two very different areas which can prove challenging. I have been amazed by how quickly they have bonded and we have really enjoyed being able to take the two out together. Simba is GREAT in the car. Last week we took him to play with Whoppers boyfriend Harley (another goldendoodle) and he hung right in with the big dogs. I thought he may be timid but that definitely was not the case and by the end of the play session Whopper was overwhelmed with her tail between her legs because she was getting picked on by the boys. Simba also had his first dog park experience yesterday and was SO CUTE! He wanted to follow Whopper around and would chase her until other dogs got involved. Then he would run under a bench and watch. I called him out from under the bench and you could see him watching and waiting. When the coast was clear he ran the 20 feet or so to me and before I even had a chance to react he had jumped up into my arms. Everyone else there laughed! Every now and then Simba will try and get toilet paper or some other paper product but fortunately he has enough treats around that the exchange is working well. He sleeps through the night without a peep and would sleep even later if Whopper didn't come in around 7 demanding to go out. For a puppy, he seems to be pretty mellow and Whopper remains the instigator. He would be content to lie around a lot more! It will definitely be fun to continue to watch them grow together and to continue to see just how different their personalities are. I am so excited to have a puppy that loves to snuggle!
