The day went great for Lilly. The night- not so much. We took her to Lincoln ( 70 miles one way) juat as we got to Oficce Depot I spilled my Sonic Rt 44- ice and all on my lap and Lilly. I just figured that people would think she peed on me. (nice to have someone to blame things on, now that the kids are raised.) She went potty on the grass and slept all the way home.

She ate dinner and I ran her up and down the house.. if a earthquake shows in Brownville, NE,on the scale yesterday it was me- holding my boobies, running one way down the hall and then the other way trying not to step on Lilly.  Bedtime came and we put the crate in the bedroom and put Lilly in it and she turned into a Wampus Cat ( I am so over her not reading the Crate Training book that other doodles read and loovvvee their crates) I put the crate next to the bad and stuck my hand through the wire. I think it just pissed her off that I didn't open that horrid trap and get her out.. so for two hours we listened to her and when she took a breath, I talked to her and then she talked back to me " GET ME OUT OF HERE. I HATE IT HERE. I HATE YOU" over and over again. Glad I have gone through this with children or I would have taken it personally. I told her that she needed to talk to her union rep since we were management. After two hours I bought her in the bed and she settled down and went to sleep. I put her back in the crate and she did the same thing for another hour. I ended up bringing her back in the bed because I did not want to kill anyone today by not sleeping another night. I am not a very kind person when I am sleepy.

Someone suggested putting my one of my shirts in her crate. This morning we had to go work at the cottage for an hour. I took the T. Shirt that I wore yesterday and threw it in the crate. Took Lilly out to go potty and put her in the crate with a few of her million toys and told her "Girlfriend, you can cry if you want, but we have to go, see you later." turned the tv on to SPA music and left. We came back and I snuck in the house. It was quiet. She was on the T shirt that was on her blanket that was on the heart beat thing SLEEPING> Yes, happy girl dance.. she will sleep in her crate...let's see how tonight goes. Thank you all for your support and suggestions.. hugs to all my doodle friends.

Last night was a dream compared to the first two nights. Lilly slept in her crate ALL night (except when I took her to bed to snuggle and then back to the crate) she went out twice to go potty, she creid a bit when I put her back in the crate and then sleep. i misread the suggestion about the t.shirt... it should have been put next to the crate. I will watch her to make sure she doesn't start chewing it and swallow pieces..

Oh Mimi.. Sounds like you are having quite the time!!!   The crate training business is not as easy as all those books say it is???  Cant believe that.. Why do they gloss over the part that the puppy will carry on for hours, till the sound drives you insane, or worse yet, to consuming several alcoholic beverages till you just pass out and can't hear them. LOL

Your today is going to be my future in exactly 10 days...  LOL

Mimi, ah well then, at least you only have one otherwise you'd have to deal with collective bargaining. :=D

See, now you know she can do it, but honestly it's different when she knows you are home! SO DON'T GET TOO DISAPPOINTED if she doesn't do this at night. Stay strong and TMI on your running issues--LOL!

You need to be more than management, girl, you need to be a UNION BUSTER!!!

I think I felt the aftermath of the tremmors here in Omaha.  When I got to "boobies" I just cracked up.  I have had too do the same thing when I run and I'm not large.  I just hate the feeling.  Mimi, PLEASE crate train Lilly.  LOL  My bed is 3' off the floor...way to high for a puppy to jump down from.  I even get nervous when Rua jumps down...but she is a KangaRua so she has alot of experience jumping.  I can't wait to meet you...you have a great sense of humor and I just can't wait to keep Lilly...oops...I mean't to watch Lily.  :-)

BTW, how much does Lilly weigh now?

I have been know to have to "hold my girls while running" myself.  Hysterical!!!!  Be strong (but both my doodles sleep with me - screw the crate).  Get an ex-pen for when you leave the house, through a boiled shin bone in there and life is good.  Just sayin what works for one - doesn't work for all.
