Looking back on our two years with Holly...

It has been a little over two years since I flew from California to Texas in order to bring home a little seven pound, seven week old, Goldendoodle that we named Holly because she had been born on Christmas Day. We could not be happier with this darling tall girl who now weighs 65 pounds and is a beautiful buff color.

Holly attracts attention everywhere we go and whenever we take her to visit someone, they always remark how smart and well trained she is. She began attracting attention at the DFW Airport on our flight back from Dallas when all of the TSA personnel wanted to look at her and pet her. Holly is a great ambassador for Doodles.

Holly was obedient from the start and learned to sit for treats on the very first day. Although we thought we had a Golden-Puddle for the first five weeks she was with us; at three months - it was like someone flipped a switch. She has never had an accident in our house or when we visited anyone since she turned three months old.

One thing that we are thrilled with is that Holly is very lady-like and sedate when she eats and drinks. You can hand her food and even if she envelops your fingers with her big teeth, she is always gentle and is never rough in accepting the food. Holly also drinks very politely. Our daughter's Lab (whom we just love to death) seems to drink her water from the bottom of the bowl and splashes all over. Holly never splashes when she drinks.

It's a wonderful feeling when I am sitting at the computer and Holly comes over to put her head in my lap and I love to see Holly manuever herself onto the small couch where Judy is sitting with two of our Maltese. I don't know how she is able to jump onto that seat without crushing a Maltese, but she accomplishes that quite well.

Holly is great with our Maltese who cuddle and sleep with her. She loves to play with our little five pound champion and seeing these two dogs of such different sizes play tug of war with a toy brings a smile to our hearts. She has become a wonderful addition to our home and we love her dearly.

It has been a win-win situation with Holly. We have provided her with what we think is a wonderful home. She has a fenced acre as her private playground, loving and attentive parents, and four little Maltese friends. She gets frequent visits to and from our daughter's Labrador with whom she is best friends.. In return Holly has given us her love, obedience and a wonderful fun loving attitude. She makes my heart smile whenever I look at her.
