Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I'm sitting here waiting for the carpet steam cleaning guys to show up...you know, that 4 hour "window". I sent the boys to Daycare because I thought that it would be too crazy around here, and now I'm missing them. I don't know what to do with myself...so here I am on DK living vicariously thorough all of you. The Doods are usually my "entertainment". Yesterday's "show" still has me laughing. There was a big black ant that got in through the front door, and he was crawling across the floor in the foyer. Murphy was sound asleep in the kitchen. Guinness was on "guard duty" which is his new thing. So he spots the ant, and doesn't quite know what to make of it. He tries doing a "play bow" first, and the ant keeps moving. Then he smells it, but when the ant starts moving faster, he gets scared. He backs off and starts barking like crazy at the ant. This wakes Murphy who decides he should see what's going on. He comes in, takes one look at the ant, and eats it. Now Guinness is freaked because he doesn't know where the ant went. He's running in circles and smelling like a "whackadoodle". Murphy heads back to the kitchen and goes back to sleep. It really was a funny scene. It doesn't take much these days...okay, I'm going to go do something constructive like laundry.

Spud is a bug eater. Right now we are having trouble with bumble bees. :(

But anyway, we taught Spud to " Thump it" By the end of last summer he would walk around and squish the bugs instead of eating them! Good Luck.

This is one of the funniest doodle stories I ever heard! I'd give anything to have been there! Guinness and Murphy should have their own variety show!

I know what you mean...the house is so empty without them...but you do have clean carpets and the doods had fun at daycare. Enjoy your evening!!

Oops...I forgot to add that the "carpet guys" got every single pee stain out of the carpets. Now I just have to keep Murph from having any more "accidents". Life is good...and my house smells normal again.

My boys are home, and all's right in my world. I made them an extra special dinner, and now they're exhausted laying at my feet and chewing antlers....priceless. Camilla, I really want to hear that Darwin edition of "Single Ladies"....what would it take to get you to video it for us?

I loved that story! It shows the differences in their personalities perfectly. :-) I know what you mean about them being good entertainment. DH have this crazy and pretty embarrassing habit... we replace the words to well known songs so that they are about Darwin... :-) You should hear our "Single Ladies - Darwin edition"... ha ha!

I loved this story - made me laugh out loud! What a couple of characters you have there! And I know what you mean about it being lonely. Whenever we take Penny for grooming for the day, the house seems positively dismal. I'm lost for most of the day.

This is sooo funny! It is weird how the older siblings take on roll as protector and guard dog once a younger pup comes into the picture. You should just see Taquito fling himself in front of other dogs coming up to Peri. He barks and protects her. He barks when he hears noises now - and looks at Peri. Sounds like Guinness is doing the same sort of thing. I love dogs =) Hear my sigh of contentment! Are the doods home yet?

See, Murphy is a problem solver. Guinness says, "Hey, there's something strange here. I'm going to bark at it until I figure it out." Murphy wakes up wondering what the fuss is about, checks it out, and says, "Hmmm" eats the ant, and then says, "Problem solved! Now I can get back to my nap."

ROFLMAO ....... The picture in my mind of Guinness play bowing to the ant was too much! Then Murphy eats it and goes back to sleep! I know what you mean about it being too quiet without them .... I'm sure they are having fun at daycare though!
