Wow -- I actually gave myself permission to NOT go to Mayo today. After last nights ordeal Jess was going to be left under heavier sedation today to allow the fluids to leave his body and the heart heal. Tomorrow will be much of the same.
I began the day walking Phoebe and her older brother Hobbes. We walked to visit Phoebe's little Schnauzer-poo pal who is 1/3rd her size. I wish we had close Doodle pals for her. Gosh is she so social!
I was able to get lots of accounts squared away and family business. Multiple calls to the hospital all yielded status quo results.
I am thankful that Jess's kidneys have NEVER failed. I am thankful for the smart medical team. I am thankful that his strong body has hung on for 15 days and counting. And I am thankful for all my friends and family support and this wonderful social network of doodle lovers/owners that have been following my story with prayers and kind support.
I have redirected everyone to Doodlekisses to check in on the latest updates. I am feeling very encouraged today!

(the picture is our 13 yr old Lhasa -- not so interested in Phoebe but she thinks he is pretty swift)

You definitely have a family of supporters here to help if we can! So happy to hear that you're taking care of yourself, which is so important right now. And remember the offer ALWAYS stands - if you need Phoebe and Hobbs to have some play time, I'll put Penny in the car and we'll come to you! Just let us know... we're here for you!

I totally agree with Paula. It is amazing that, because of DK, we are all thinking of and praying for someone we have never met. But I sit here with tears in my eyes and say prayers for you both that one day real soon, Jess will be back at the computer with you and grinning while looking at all the Doods' pictures! Thanks for keeping us updated on his progress, and I will continue to keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. And don't forget to take good care of you!!

Thanks for keeping us posted. I check a couple of times a day and send my thoughts and hopes his way many times. Isn't it amazing the people that are thinking of you and praying for him because of DK. In a zillion years we would have never been brought to know of each other otherwise. He does look like a wonderfully kind gentleman. It's was so nice of you to post such a special photo of him.

Glad to hear that Jess made it out of surgery and through the whole day. Good for you that you could spend the day at home getting stuff taken care of and spending time with Phoebe! I'm sure she loved it! What's your Lhasa's name? He's pretty handsome for being 13! We'll try to keep the encouragement coming. ~Missi~
