On the way home from Puppy Class (on graduation day!) wearing his doggie seat belt:

Being accosted by my 2 year old son in his crate... the two year old LOVES Sammy dog... but I am pretty sure that Sammy simply tolerates my son Teagan and the love fest is not mutual at this point...

I think it's so perfect that your kids get to grow up with this gorgeous Doodle puppy. I think you're right to wait until you're sure that Sammy is not going to chew before you let him sleep in the twins' room. You'd hate for them to get all excited about it only to have to put him back in the crate. Also, I'm guessing hubby would be right there to say "told you so". LOL We all hate that, don't we.

Well given that Teagan's bed is a crib still... it isn't much different than the crate! :) Teagan would be fine trading though. Sammy is fine with his crate though... doesn't like it when he knows we are going out somewhere, but goes in on his own for naps and at bedtime... if I get up from the couch in the evening and turn the light out, he just wanders over into his crate and then I say good night. Hubby didn't want the crate up in the bedroom so I am glad this is working out for now... kinda wonder what the plan will be long term. My 7 year old, who claims Sammy as his (even though the dog looks to me first and Quinn second), would like to have Sammy sleep up with him and I have no problem with that -- but not sure hubby is on board yet and not really sure how to trial it... maybe start with the crate up there? or just a dog bed? Hmmmm... I am pretty sure we are fully house trained now as we have been accident free for a number of weeks now. But he does not have free reign of our 3200 sqft house... which is good. Too many things to chew on! That is probably the biggest obstacle in letting him sleep on his own in the twins' room... too much to chew on still.

Sammy probably feels that the crate belongs to your wrong 'son.' He would be glad for Teagan to have it and he could have Teagan's bed.
