When I woke up this morning I was surprised that Bodi wasn't in bed with us. I figured he was sleeping with my sons on the second floor. I showered, dressed and ate breakfast and still no Bodi! This had NEVER happened before. To add to my anxiety, Bodi has been sick with a stomach bug. He has had several accidents in the house over the last few days. I worried where he was and what I would find! I went upstairs to the boys' room and found one empty bed and no dog. I was still only worried about Bodi, not my 17 year olds where-abouts!! I went to the basement, back to the main floor - still no sign of him! I was really getting worried - WHERE IS MY DOODLE? I searched in his hiding places in the living room. No Bodi. I saw the office door CLOSED and yes, Bodi was on the other side calmly wagging his tail, waiting for me!! I can't believe that he didn't cry, bark or scratch when he heard me get up! He must have been in a deep sleep last night when my DH went to bed!! (On a side note, Bodi went to the vet yesterday and is on medication and special food and is doing MUCH better! )

My son had spent the night at his friend's house - which is what I figured!! I'm the first to bed and the last to know these things! Thanks for asking!

So, did you find your son, too? LOL!

I can't explain it but I have one who will wait forever until you come get him and one who'll bark impatiently to be let in--or out as the case may be.

I am so glad I'm not the only one to have this happen. I am really baffled why Bodi didn't cry, scratch, bark . . . something!! I wasn't calliing his name because the rest of the family was asleep, but surely he heard me!!

First, so glad to hear that Bodi is feeling better. Second - I too, know that panic feeling! I searched all over one day for Tori, calling her, nothing...that few minutes is like forever - kind of like when you lose your child in a store for a moment- Usually she yelps if she gets shut inside a bedroom, but nothing! anyway... she got shut inside the pantry - door shut tight... silly doodle! I told her she needs to answer me when I call her! No scratch, no bark....just sitting! LOL

Oh gosh I know this feeling of panic. One time I came home from work and couldn't find our late dog Buddy anywhere in the house. I searched every room even the garage...I found him upstairs in my ensuite bathroom with the door closed. Now who locked him in there I thought...then I saw a garbage bag hanging on the doorknob inside the bathroom. The little devil had jumped on the door to get the garbage bag and the door must have slammed shut. I am glad that Bodi is safe and sound and tht he is feelin better.

Calla has managed to get shut in the family room, once by doing it herself and once by me. The first time I couldn't believe I had let her into the yard and forgotten. Then I searched the neighborhood. Finally she let out a couple of whimpers. And there she was. The second time I caught on much faster. Luca would never allow this to happen without a relatively quick vocal protest.

I know that feeling of Panic too, I couldn't find Oliver for about 15 min one day, and I was freaked out. He was in my closet fast asleep on the floor...He never went in there before, and I guess I didn't realize he was there and I shut the door...Panic is not a good thing, lol...Glad to hear that Bodi is feeling better..

I so understand that feeling of panic! I am glad that all is well!!
My daughter moved back home after college with her cat, Preston. We started construction shortly after and we all lived in the house with this huge project going on. We couldn't find Preston for 24 hours - thought he might have gotten out of the house from under one of the many tarps covering the lack of roof. My daughter was just beside herself. The following day I opened the bottom of 3 drawers I have to get a sweatshirt. Low and behold - the little kitty was sound asleep on top of the only cashmere sweater I have ever owned! He must have jumped into the middle drawer while I was dressing and crawled into the bottow drawer and went to sleep. Not a meow, cry for 24 hours - a happy kitty with quiet time from all the workmen!
