Santa - I need a fence!

We had a very eventful morning. It is pouring down rain - buckets and buckets. I let Bodi out this morning and he took off. Normally if it is raining he does his thing and sprints back to the house as fast as he can. I was walking around the yard and neighbor's yard in my nightgown and bare feet looking for him. He was two doors down checking out the new neighbors. This boy KNOWS he is in trouble. He had to go right to the bathtub. He stood obediently for his bath…

Bodi is a trendsetter!

My mother and her friends make scarves, hats and head bands/ear warmers for the first graders at my school.  When I got them all out today to do a count, my son put a head band on Bodi.  He is still walking around with it . . . hours later!  I think he is…

A multi-sensory walk

I walk Bodi at 5 am.  Usually the only one we see is a mini-poodle who lives around the corner.  His owner is not friendly, so even though the dogs would love to great each other they don't get to. We arrived at the corner at the same time this morning.  I held back, Bodi yanked and yanked, and then we continued our walk.  A few streets up Bodi and I could see someone walking in the street towards us.  I am not afraid of people walking dogs or joggers, but this person was just walking…

A Change of Heart

My Mother in law has been very ill . . . in the hospital since July 4th!  She is finally making huge improvements so NOW I feel like I can share this story!

When I announced that we were getting a dog, 5 years ago, she was not happy.  "Your house isn't big enough" "Who is going to take care of it?" "It can't come to MY house", etc.  When I said that I was sorry she felt that way about not coming to her house, I also said we would visit for 1 day at Thanksgiving and 1 day at…

We are having problems in the bedroom . . .

Haha - not what you think!! I had surgery two weeks ago. (I'm ok) When I returned from the hospital my DH moved to the couch with his COUGH and C-Pap machine so I could sleep better.  Since DH has moved back to the bed, Bodi has been a major pest!!  Bodi goes to bed with me, gets back up to spend time with DH in the living room, goes out for one more potty and then sleeps on the floor in the bedroom.  All good . . . until about 5 am. (our normal time to get up when I go to work)  Then Bodi…

I was speechless!!

I couldn't decide where to post this - since it's a teacher AND a doodle thing so here goes.  I have a wonderful student teacher who is able to finish my sentences, pick up where I leave off, we often say the same thing at the same time etc.  We are just in sync!!!  I also have co-workers who love their dogs as much as I love Bodi.  Today at lunch during a grooming discussion, my student teacher very meekly said, "I just don't really like dogs. . .I didn't know how to tell you."  We ALL… Continue

Slideshow comment . . . ;-)

My DH and I watched the slide show together this afternoon.  His comment?!  This is "Doodle Porn"!  LOL  Maybe he's just jealous . . . .since Bodi never sleeps on his back and once again we are not in the slide show.  We enjoyed seeing your adorable doodles!  Thanks!

Doodles + Hot Flashes

Oh my, why does Bodi have to lay SO close to me when I wake up with a hot flash??  He knows that I'm awake and he thinks I will give him some loving . . . .but all I want to do is COOL off - that's impossible with a doodle cuddling close!

Were YOU at the Epilepsy Walk?

A walk to raise awareness for Epilepsy was held this past weekend in Washington, DC.  I was there with my DH and Sister's family.(had to leave Bodi at home)  While we were walking I spotted a Doodle.  I restrained myself and did not run across the lawn in front of the Washington monument to meet and greet this beautiful doodle!!  Now I wish I would have . . . .so . . . were any of you at the epilepsy walk with your doodle??

Bodi's first day of doggie daycare!

I posted a discussion last week asking for advice about doggie daycare . . . thanks to all of you for your words of wisdom! I took Bodi on Tuesday. He was excited when I pulled into the parking lot, but not so excited when I left. The place keeps small dogs up front with the workers, and there are two separate sections in the back for medium and large dogs. When I picked him up they told me he spent some time up front with them (he is 27 lbs.) but spent the afternoon happily with the medium… Continue

We're back!

I have been unable to get onto Doodlekisses for the last few weeks! (some kind of technical glitch!) Oh the torture!! I was able to SEE what everyone was talking about, but I could not answer and worst of all I could not ask for help! Bodi had two boo boo paws. He licked and licked the first one -day after day and of course night after night. After two nights I called the vet. Bodi got a shot and antibiotic. Ahhhh instant relief! A few days later I came home and Bodi was only walking on THREE… Continue

Morning Panic!

When I woke up this morning I was surprised that Bodi wasn't in bed with us. I figured he was sleeping with my sons on the second floor. I showered, dressed and ate breakfast and still no Bodi! This had NEVER happened before. To add to my anxiety, Bodi has been sick with a stomach bug. He has had several accidents in the house over the last few days. I worried where he was and what I would find! I went upstairs to the boys' room and found one empty bed and no dog. I was still only worried about… Continue

Bodi "Goes Green"

We let Bodi out this morning . . .forgetting about the wet lawn that had been mowed last night. There was no choice but to bundle him up and take him right to the tub!
