Motherhood (of a human that is) continues to be a wild ride for me - and better than I could have dreamed.  Two months ago, when crying was peaking and I was in a fog, I would have maybe not said this.  But even though things are still crazy and stressful, Charlotte's little personality is coming out and I couldn't be happier being a mom to a little human girl!

Charlotte turned 4 months on Monday.  We get her vaccinations on Friday and I will discuss starting solid foods with the pediatrician then!  OMD where has the time gone?  She could actually be using the highchair soon???!!!

As for the dogs, Tacky is doing better - he likes to sit on my lap while I play with Charlotte. He growled a little last week and I just said a firm "NO" and he ran off upset.  I think he knows it's wrong...he just can't help himself!

Peri is in love.  She is the best ever with Charlotte.  Charlotte is not mobile yet, so I know the coming months could pose challenges with her starting to move more, but we will adapt!  Just this morning, Charlotte grabbed Peri's ear - I was there and took her hand off and told her to be gentle - ha like a 4 m.o. can get that, but I am starting young!  Peri didn't even care - she licked her.  I am already using the sign language for "dog" and telling Charlotte that's her doodle sister and chihuahua brother.  A parenting goal of mine is to raise Charlotte to be kind and gentle with animals. I think that speaks volumes of an adult's personality.  A lot of what I will teach her I have learned on DK.  Wish me luck!

Here are two photos. The first is Charlotte on Sunday, enjoying her jumperoo.  The second is Charlotte on the playmat a week or so ago, just lounging with sister Peri.  Peri just lies next to her - it's wonderful and warms my heart.

Charlotte is a doll and I always like seeing her pictures.  If the picture below posts correctly (big if), I thought you might find it amusing.  I found it on facebook during Christmas.  May have even been on the DRC site.  I feel in love with it.

Beautiful!! So glad everyone is adjusting! I guess Peri is the maternal one and Tacky is more like a jealous sibling--it reminds me of my two daughters--when my second daughter was born, my first daughter, age 2 1/2 (who  was not very maternal) referred to her as "the thing that came out of mommy's belly". When my son was born, my second daughter was 7 and she was a second mom to him for years....

Allyson, Charlotte is absolutely beautiful and so glad the "fog" is easing.  That is always a crazy time.  The picture of Charlotte and Peri is precious.  It looks like Peri is in "awe" of Charlotte and a very darling picture of the both of them.

What a little cutie pie you've got!  And out of the fog in less than 4 months...lucky momma!  It took me about 6 months with each child .. at least!  Glad things are going well and you're feeling well!
