Murphy Day..A good day

I had Murphy at our outdoor market today (our Saturday regular). One person with a new labrabdoodle puppy came up and wanted reassurance that her pup could NEVER get that big.

Another person wanted hope that her 1 year old would someday be that calm and well behaved (yay!) I assured them that Murphy was a total goofball when he was one.

Then we ran into 2 people who were in our agility class when Murphy young.

THEY certainly remembered what a GOOFBALLl he was!!!! Murphy's zoomies in class. His ..um... enthusiasm for CheezWiz doing the weave poles They were equally impressed with his behavior today...couldn't believe it was the same dog.

About a year ago at the Trailhead Market, this ~6 year old, very overweight boy came up to Murphy, I'm assuming to pet him.
Instead, he looks at me and says "Lady, if you wouldn't feed him that much, he wouldn't get that big!"

I wonder what he hears at home.

Yeah, Murphy! I just read he is 99 pounds. My Vern is 75 pounds and still growing. 99 pounds...Wow!!!

You give me hope!!! Ellie wants to jump up and hug everyone.....she loves people. I hope she calms down like Murphy.....my parents stopped by today and she did show improvement!! Congrats and huggs to Murphy!!

Thanks guys. We all know how much goes into training these Doods, but some people just seem so clueless.
Why is he that good? Because we work at it. (though I don't know if work is the right word). No, he didn't always behave this way.
It was wonderful to see someone who had not seen him since he was a goofy adolescent and could fully appreciate how far we have come. He was never bad, just very big and very exuberant.

Murphy, you are such a well behaved boy. Also, a giant one. :-) I saw one of his puppy kindergarten instructors at a dog park a few months ago, and she could not believe how big he was! Also how well behaved. He wasn't the best student in puppy class. (too distracted by everyone else's treats... ha ha)
