My Do It Yourself Dog Gators! Patent Pending!

We have had a lot of snow lately and Fudge and Vern want to be out as much as possible. I am the least crafty person you will ever meet and I think my homemade gators prove this once again. Last night, the dogs came in with snow everywhere and we spent a long time getting all the snow off of them. So, today after the plows came through, I went to Target in the hopes to find some stretchy PJ's to make into snowsuits for the dogs. I found this idea on DK from some truly crafty members. When I went to Target, the only PJ's they had were in a small size and Vern is no small. I decided to take some clearance knee highs and cut the toe off and try them out as gators. Here are the results:

 

Ok, It starts off well. Fudge looks thrilled, but she left them on to go outside. We have changed her name to Pippi :)

Vern is equally thrilled to be wearing Argyle socks:

Next, we go outside and they start to play....they wanted to give them the true test. Here are the gators after they came in from playing outside:

I actually used to tell her to quit earning the stupid badges :) It was genius parenting, because of course, she then got every badge she could.

Caitlin, That requires sewing :) My oldest girl still tells everyone I used to staple her badges on her girl scout vest, so that might tell you about my sewing skills. I will not be defeated though...and Walmart here I come. Thanks!
