Her official name is "Sweet Georgia Brown". I had wanted to name her Georgia and was waffling between that and another name. The deciding factor was taking her across the street to visit with a little girl, and a neighbor walked by with this large doberman mix dog who was super sweet and gentle. He called her Greta. Really Greta? The shock was that I was so close to calling my dog Greta and got such negative response from my friends that I had decided to dismiss it. I told him her name was Georgia and he said "Hi Sweet Georgia Brown". It just clicked. I knew the song, and when I looked up the words to the song it was even more appropriate. She has a slight Diva complex I have to say.
Ironically I tell people her name is Sweet Georgia Brown and they have no idea the reference. I don't know if that really dates me or shows their lack of knowledge of jazz classics. Probably just dates me.
So I bring her home and realize that I need to run to the store to get some goat milk that the breeder's used to mix with the kibble. I come home and she and my neighbor are relaxed on my sofa.
My neighbor leaves and my Georgia has decided and let me know in no uncertain terms that her preferred place is on the sofa. She can't get up there on her own but it's only a matter of days.
She's okay with the crate, whimpers for a few minutes sometimes and then settles down. She's been pretty good with the potty training. I'm the one that has to figure things out.
We are working on fetch. And I had the settings completely wrong in my camera so they are out of focus but these are still cute pictures. Many that have come to visit wonder if she has a pulse, she can be that mellow, so I have to show these to prove she does. Trust me, when she's ready to play, she's REALLY ready to play.
My next door neighbor comes to visit often. This may come in handy.
I think I see her growing on a daily basis. Look at those paws! I don't think she will be the 45 lbs the breeder told me.

Thanks,
I did see that thread on a dog running towards you and I kind of know how to do it, just didn't have my camera set up correctly and she was done with the game before I could change things.
Not as good as you guys, but I have plenty of time to practice. She almost understands the game of fetch. But she has the attention span of a gnat so keeping her focused on the ball is pretty difficult.
If I was your neighbor, I would come over every day :) Georgia is beautiful. I always associate that song with the show, Designing Women, and I loved that show. We have TWO discussions in the Photography group on photographing a dog running at you. Take a look. I have probably taken 2000 pictures of my Fudge and gotten two good ones. LOL Enjoy your puppy. She is adorable.
