Famous last words, but, not in this case.
We received Gizmo, a year old Malti-Poo from a Riverside County shelter. Gizmo had half of his ear amputated because some kids stretched a rubber band around this poor dog's ear. My kids would never have done that! And I know they wouldn't have done such a thing...
Did I ever tell them, "don't place a rubber band around a dog's ear?" Of course not! What I did teach them was a love and respect for all animals and pets. Both the kids and the parents should share equal blame in the case of poor Gizmo.

I surprised my son with a pinata for his birthday party when he was about 6 years old that was shaped like an animal (not clear what kind LOL). He refused to let the guests hit it with a stick. "You know me better than that, Mom" he chided me. It stayed in his closet until it disintegrated - or died of old age.
Happy that Gizmo now is safe and will be in the future. Thank you.
So glad Gizmo is safe with you now. I agree, my kids would have never done such a thing. :(
Gizmo, you are still a handsome young pup! May you find your furever home soon and be loved as you should be!!
So glad Gizmo is with you for now, Richard! Thank you for everything you do!
A long time ago I read (in a respected publication) that the only thing that all known serial killers had in common with each other (aside from the obvious) was they all physically abused animals when young. I've never checked to see if that was actually true but it stuck in my head. People seem to think it's "just an animal". Aside from being sickening to a normal human, I view it as a stepping stone to doing the same to people. Just saying.
Thank goodness he is in your loving hands now.
What is wrong with people?
I saw this on FB and it made me sick. So many mistreated animals in this world. So many idiots! I am glad Gizmo ended up in your organization.
Poor Gizmo! I'm glad he's found you two!
