I was SO excited when I found out that I won the Les Poochs brush in the Pet Flow contest! I have been wanting one for so long but honestly I've never been able to justify the cost. It was exactly the prize I would choose to win, I can't even say how happy I was.
It came in the mail from Kemp (thanks for the advice on which brush Kemp!!) and I immediately took it out and started brushing Darwin. I was skeptical that it would be that much better than our current slicker (15 dollar MGT) but it was WAAAAY better. It literally took me half as much time and got all the way down to the skin, no trouble getting through the matts! With my old brush I'd have to go through 2 or 3 times, and use a fine toothed comb. This got all of those, easily, and so easy to get through them! Darwin had no issue whatsoever with the brush. I am just so over the moon that I finally have one, it's going to make brushing so much easier. Yay!
I did some comparison shots of his old brush and the new Les Poochs. Excuse the hair in the Les Poochs, I forgot to clean it out before I took the photos. :-)
the MGT, notice the short bristles.
And the Les Poochs. Look at those lovely long tines and double width. Sigh, I think I'm in love. LOL

I was happy to see you win as well! I also love to hear that you think the brush is wonderful. I have been one of those advocates for this brush for years. I absolutely think it is the greatest thing out there! I bought mine when the girls were maybe a year old or even a little less. I just now (they are 4.5) bought a new one. I was shocked at the difference in my new one and my old one. I think it might have been just a little worn. Worth every single penny they cost. Congratulations.
Joanne, your hunch was right. I've brushed Darwin twice as much as normal in the past two days, not that he needs it because it so thoroughly dematts him. He looks really good and fluffy though! I think he's enjoying the extra brushing attention as well. LOL Thanks everyone for the nice comments.
Congratulations, Camilla!
I have the same experience with Les Poochs. I thought my previous slicker was fine until I bought a Les Poochs (from Kemp) earlier this year. As you said, it is WAY better. Saves a lot of time! So worth it! Can't imagine keeping Chewie's 4 inch curly fleece matt-free without it. I got a wide green brush :)
I am so glad this was such a success Camilla. I think winning was a just reward for all the help you gave for the calendar submissions.
So glad you won! I'm with you, Camilla. I cannot believe the difference between the Les Poochs and any other slicker.
Congratulations, Camilla. I cannot imagine Darwin looking any better but it's good to hear you like the brush. I'm still mentally saving money for one of the brushes. It would help if I didn't keep running red lights in order to avoid jumping on breaks to save the doods. Don't tell my DH.
And ditto to Laurie's statement =)
NICE! Congratulations Camilla. I can't imagine Darwin looking any better than he already does but I have a hunch he will be being brushed all day, everyday, for the next couple of months.
Be sure to keep it in it's case as the tines are easily warped. It should last a long time. Enjoy
Congratulations, Camilla!! You are an amazing gift to DK and I am glad you won something so wonderful!! I think I might know what I am going to ask Santa for for Christmas, although my dogs will be thoroughly confused when I start brushing them.
Kemp doesn't mess around! That is quite the amazing looking tool...I want to try one, but I don't have dogs that need it.
