I've been nursing all these impatients thru all the bad weather this spring. I just went out and Lucy dug up half of them. She's a mess and half the flowers are gone. DAM. I guess it's time to replant. Oh great. Now she wants to come in the house with those dirty feet. That's why they make puppies so cute or you'd kill them.

If it makes you feel any better Molly does the same thing.... We planted some new birch trees this year that were about 5 feet tall and every time the wind would blow the branches would almost touch the ground(we live in Kansas) Molly must of thought it was a play toy because then she would attack it and chew off the branch so it was about a foot tall. My husband was mad so I would go buy another tree.....3 trees later I gave up, the tree could be there a week and she wouldn't touch it then here would come another storm with wind and there it would go. I bought a 4 foot fence to put around it until it gets bigger branches!!!!! She would also pluck a flower roots and all out of the pots on the patio everytime she would walk by it. She has stopped that I don't know why but I'm not complaining.......Good Luck with your flowers......

Well - as you can see by the collar, we have an e-fence for the yard. I put the zone thing that I used to keep them out of the working part of the kitchen and off counter tops. Anyway, I put that out there. Wouldn't you know it, I don't think she's going in there at all - We'll see if that works.

At least you still have grass!! Ned was the final blow to grass in my yard. Three dogs + a small grassy area = dirt with some weeds.

Correction-I meant to sy Lucy likes the impatients plants. BTW-your landscaping around the tree still looks so pretty even with the digging doodle

My neighbour plants those very plain orange or yellow flowers-I think they are called marigolds. They have an unpleasant smell she says-so animals, bees, wasp etc will keep away from them. But if they smell bad-who wants them. Impatient's would look so lovely around your tree and they spread so beautifully. I guess Fergie likes them too.

I don't know about "minty"...the stuff I've seen smells like urine, lol.

I wonder if 'deer off' would keep the pups away from gardening. Non toxic but gives off a minty smell that deers walk away from. Anyone try that??

Naughty dog! Ya it is amazing they dont end up being supper! LOL. Have you considered planting forget-me-nots instead? They really fill and multiply. I love them.

Lucy Lucy Lucy!!! Tsk tsk tsk...aren't you glad you're adorable?
She was just trying to mimic her mommy and practice a little gardening herself ;-)

OK so I went and got 16 more plants and planted them. 2 are already gone. I'm going to give up on that tree for this year. Maybe I'll just do a lot of Hosta next spring around it. I do like the flowers though.
