Flipping channels - stopped at Animal Planet. What do I see? A grooming show that takes gorgeous dogs and turns them into 'living works of art' by using food coloring and clipping and blowdrying,
They turn mostly standard poodles into a Transformer, cowgirl, dinosaurs, a jungle theme who won competition and $2500.
They use wigs, decorations, hair spray and gel.
OMG -
Checked the site and the show is Animal Planet's Most Outrageous Animal Competitions and is it ever!

Crazy but artistic.

LOL! Well it is the normal progress of societal evolution. We are, afterall, starting to treat our dogs like they are our human children rather than working dogs or just plain pets. Why not be a pageant mom to a pup.

That's just crazy. I wonder how long they keep those dogs looking like that after the competition. Do you think they take them for a regular walk like that? If they did that in central wisconsin we'd call the man in the white coat to take them away. (without the dog)

OMG, that must be awful for those dogs to go through the process to look like that. Imagine how we feel sitting in the beauty salon for a couple of hours and then multiply times 100. Seems just cruel to me.

Thank you Kyoko! I tried to find pictures to post but couldn't. I just can't believe that these owners of their beloved dogs actually spend months prior to their 'competition' planning this! Poor pouches!!
I must admit I was glued to the show to the finals - it is very artistic but these people need to use this excess energy in something more community service based.
