Samantha Got A Job!

Around the corner from us is a semi-private golf course. Our friends own the restaurant on the course so Samantha goes with us there to eat.

The course has lots of geese that the golfers just hate! They asked Samantha to come on over and chase them off the course. DH, Mark, took her over there earlier and she had so much fun running on the course. She listened to DD - when he called her she came running over to him.

How did she do on her first day on the job? Did she chase the geese? NO but they did fly away as soon as the saw her! She spent the 1/2 running on the course with her nose gued to the ground. Not a great hunting dog but she would put any Bloodhound to shame.

Poor Doodle Puppy, she came home so tired from work she couldn't raise her head off the ground. Wonder if she remembered to ask about the benefits!

Maybe she could teach Hartley a lesson or two on the recall!! He has been really bad lately about being off leash and not coming back - off leash privalages have currently been revoked!! I am glad that Samantha had a really good run around and cme back to you at the end! We are still working on Hartley, he does great in class and pacticing at home, but anywhere else he tries to turn it into a game by running up to you and running away again.... it is very frustrating!

hmmm dog working, dog pays for dog food and vet bills.. I like this idea, I don't think Cali would be good at chasing the geese away, but she would be good at keeping any ones spot warm as she is really proficient at laying around.

She may if they geese decide she is no threat. OR they may get wise to her ball obession and fly up and drop golf balls for her to chase and not them!

Hmmm. At the pet store last week was a stuffed Canada Goose that Honked! I think she should get this toy as a reward.... hint hint.
Actually I have heard of this being a successful humane treatment for unwanted geese. Congratulations Samantha!
