Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I posted that we were getting a puppy for Lilly and we were going with a labradoodle this time, well plan b- we are going to stick with a goldendoodle and have one of the litter that Lilly's mom and dad are going to have. We are second for a girl. We talked with Lilly's trainer and she suggested a second golden based on Lilly's personality. Personally, I think she suggested that because of me and my personality:)  Deposit check is sent it and the waiting as begun. I bought a collar and leash and have all other items (crate, another set of bowls, and toys on my wish list at amazon.)

The new puppy will be spayed before she leaves the breeders. I wonder if I should have them chip her or wait till she gets older. thoughts anyone?  I guess this is the new thing to do instead of waiting till they get older.

We just got Lilly back from a week at the pet spa while we were at Scott's sister's house. It is nice to have my baby back.

So happy to hear this! Good luck! If they can chip her I would think it would be better earlier on.

Good Luck. It seems like a good idea to have the new pup chipped ASAP.

I'd have her chipped while she's under anesthetic. There is some pain involved otherwise, although it doesn't last. The chip is only the size of a grain of rice, but think how big a needle would have to be for a grain of rice to pass through it! Better to do it while she's under anesthesia, if possible.

I asked if I could wait and have her spayed later but the breeder said no to much paperwork for her to know who has had it done and who hasn't.  Same breeder as Lilly's so I feel okay with it. I do want to get her chipped at the same time, I just don't know if she will be to little.

Congratulations on your final decision.  I would get the chip asap so if it can be done when they neuter her -yay!

How exciting for you!  I feel that the trend for early spay and neuter has died out due to some negative side effects.  Do you have a choice on this?  You may wish to do some research if you do.  Good luck!

Mine were chipped before they came to me at 8 and 10 weeks old, so not sure when exactly. I always thought most pups were microchipped while under for spaying and neutering.
