No more going stir crazy!

Ellie had her 3rd parvo shot today and the vet says she can go outside. YAY! Obviously no dog parks/pet stores, etc... but least we both won't get stir crazy anymore! Plus, NYC is full of outdoor dining so it'll be great to take Ellie out.

On the slightly bad note, Ellie had a minor ear infection. Vet said it was common among goldens and poodles with the mix heat and humidity here. (It's rained about 17 days here...) Oh well, no big deal apparently. Just a little medicine to get her through it.

Thanks all! The vet said the peak of the vaccination was 10 days after the shot - I think I was going to be safe and wait a few weeks - otherwise I was going to take her to a puppy play group that I know is safe and clean.

I want pics of Ellie out and about in the big apple! My daughter is going to CT later this month....they are planning a day or two in the city.....anything they should be sure not to miss while they are there (she is 16)

I have to tell a story. When I used to take my Labradoodles there, I saw another dog get bitten in the ear to the point of drawing blood. The person who owned the aggressive dog (who aren't supposed to be there in the first place) didn't even apologize, nor did they even leave! The owner of the poor little dog who got bit had to rush to the vet. Scary, that was my last time there, people just don't pay enough attention. "He never acts like that, I don't know what got into him" was not an acceptable apology. Poor little guy. Also, the vet said if you allow your dog to use the water bowls and toys of the other dogs that it is common to get warts in the mouth at the dog park here locally anyways....just thought I'd put it out there so we are all aware of the dangers that others may have experienced in the past.

Congrats! Ellie (and you) will enjoy being able to pee and poo outside now. Peri gets her 3 week shots today also....tell Ellie her sister says hi!
