I did not call Mayo through the night or early this morning as I normally do. I was hoping last night would be the night my guy got some restorative sleep. Phoebe slept well, resting her head in my neck again. I think she must have put on a little weight as I struggled to shove her over.
I had to be at the cardiologist’s office at 7:45 for part one of my stress test. This was the “rest test.” I’d be on my way to see Jess after they released me. After check-in, I decided to call and see how Jess fared over the night. Not only did he not sleep, he had breathing problems and they had to give him and oxygen mask. My “rest test” turned into “stress at rest.” Results should be fascinating.
When I arrived at the hospital my sister was there to meet me. Jess was not happy under the mask and tried to reach for it to talk to me. The doctor whips in and announces, “I’m worried about his lungs.” This announcement causes Jess’s eyes to widen with a look of concern, trying to look back at him with an expression of assurance was another test of my "resting" stress.
Jess has fluid back in his lungs. The good news is that a scan did not reveal clots. Although his temperature has risen yet again, they do not think he has pneumonia. Whew.
Heading back to his room, it appeared that Jess was sleeping, or at least trying to. I had an appointment, so I decided to head out a little early to let him rest.
When arrived to my parking spot, got in and turn the engine, the battery was fried. (Another stress test) After waving people down who thought I was an escape from a mental health ward, I finally found a very kind Good Samaritan who not only jump started my car, also led me to the Acura dealership that was about a mile away from Mayo. Since the car was still under warranty, the battery was no charge. The fix for the car turned out to be surprisingly manageable. I am hoping that the fix for the fluid build-up in Jess’s lungs will also be the same kind of surprise.
Doodle? Now that is an entirely different story. I had better check on her since I have been gone all day again. She has become quite the little prankster.
Doodle Kisses and goodnight, J,J, P, and H.
P.S. Ken called. You know, my gardener.
Thank godless he is alive. He called me from the hospital and told me he was getting a pacemaker and would be back to do my yard….Do you let guys with pacemakers do your yard? Do you all have any idea how hot it gets in Arizona?
